I will, however, give my preferred equipment, inventory, and certain "stages" in the fight caves where drastic measures will be required.
Equipment
Equipment is one of the most important things you could choose for the fight caves. NOTE that this is the most EFFECTIVE list of stuff you can wear.
- Helmet - Verac's Helmet > Armadyl Helmet > Helm of Neitiznot
- Body - Armadyl Platebody > Karil's Top > Black dragonhide top
- Legs - Verac's Plateskirt > Armadyl Plateskirt > Karil's Leather Skirt > Black Dragonhide Chaps
- Boots - Ranger Boots > Dragon Boots > Rune Boots.
- Amulet - Fury Amulet > God stole > Amulet of Glory.
- Gloves - Barrows Gloves > Combat Bracelet > Black Vambraces > Other Recipe for Disaster gloves.
- Weapon - Rune Crossbow > Crystal Bow > Karil's Crossbow > Magic Shortbow.
- Shield - Dragonfire Shield > Zamorak Book > Obsidian Shield.
- Finger - Archer ring > Ring of Recoil.
- Cape - Ava's Accumulator > Skill Cape (t).
- Ammo* - Diamond bolts(e) > Emerald Bolts (e).
* About Seven hundred or so will do. If you have Ava's Accumulator you can take less, since you won't have time to pick up your bolts in the frantic frenzy of the fight caves.
Inventory
The inventory is also vital, since without it you will die a burning, painful, and monster-induced death.
- About 16 Prayer Potions, all four dose
- 4 Saradomin brews four dose
- 2 Super restore potions (to restore you stats after the brews)
- 2 Range pots (depending on your range level)
Or NO Saradomin Brews if you are Guthaning (Not really recommended).
Level Requirements
Any experienced Runescape player will declare that there is no such thing as "level requirements", but there are some INDISPUTABLE GUIDELINES to take their place. Refer below before reading further:
Recommended Level/Minimum Level/My Level
- Defense Level* - 75/1/99
- Hit Points Level - 70/10/99
- Prayer Level - 70/40/82
- Range Level** - 80/60/90…
Range, Defence, Hitpoints and Prayer Are the most important party of the fight caves.
Also, even though you SHOULDN'T use magic, as it is impractical, expensive, and prevents you from wearing sturdy armor.
*If you're a Range Pure, these don't really matter. However, I wouldn't suggest a super low defense level, being a Range Tank isn't anything to sneeze at; use it! Being a range pure can be a difficult task, so use Range pray when the 90s attack you.
**At least 80 if you're a range pure, since you want to kill fast to not waste prayer.
The Monsters
Once you enter the fight caves, you will encounter a huge amount of beasties, which you must dispatch in the shortest order possible. The reason for bringing ranged gear will become blatantly clear to you shortly.
On an unrelated topic, I was wondering, as I am a new member, if there is a shield that gives more range attack bonus than the unholy book. If not, is there at least one that still gives a decent range attack bonus that costs less than 1m?
Also, you wouldn't happen to know if dark bow does more damage per given amount of time than a rune crossbow if both are using rune bolts/arrows, would you?
Thanks.
