F2P Way to Use the Forums

Ever wanted to be a member and use the forums? You can now almost do just that with nonmember status!

Any regular Runescape player knows that only members can use the Runescape official forums. This is understandable, since they are paying for the service. At times, however, not having the forums can be unbearable. This guide will help you make the most out of the forums if you are F2P.

Selling:

First off, search the forums for what you want to sell. Whatever it is (runes, armor, arrows, etc.), somebody will most likely be looking for it. Do this by clicking the “search threads” link at the top of the main forums page. Next, choose a keyword for your item that is essential for it. For example, when selling earth runes, type in "earth" not "rune". Then, choose the most appropriate category for your item and hit search. Depending on your item it could bring up anywhere from hundreds of hits to only a few.

Click on the titles that say that they are buying your item. If you are interested in his or her price, add them to your friends list and send them a quick message. If you are not interested in his or her price and it looks like they are not getting many replies, add them anyway and offer your price. When speaking to them, be firm and professional. If they agree, tell them that your F2P and figure out a place to meet. I usually say, "My world Varrock Center, unless you're in a F2P place... then we'll go there". Make the trade! If they do not agree to your location or price, say, "Ok then... hit me up later if you can't find a seller". Keep trying this until you are out of hits that say, "buying" on the search thing.

Once your “buying…” hits are exhausted, look at all the ones that say that they are selling. The ones that have the most replies have the most potential. Click on one of them, and see if any buyers have been turned down for a price that you would most likely accept. If there are any, add them, and do the same as before. If you are out of luck, there is always world 1... See my guide for more information.

Buying:

Do the same searching deal as above, and click on the ones that say that they are selling. If you like the price that they are offering, then add them and do the same as above. If you do not like their price, add them and try to haggle.

Once your "Selling" hits are exhausted, turn to the ones that say they are buying. Again, the one with the most replies is going to be the most helpful. Look for a seller that has been turned down, and add them. See a pattern here!?

I find this method to be most effective. As a nonmember, life is tough. As a F2P merchanter, it is even harder. See my guide at gameolosophy.com and use your knowledge from this guide to be a truly effective F2P moneymaker!

Hope I helped!
