This guide is for Runescape players who have already completed heroes’ quest and would want to do some training on blue dragons and make some profit.
The inventory you should bring depends on your level or combat style but I will generally focus on using melee on the dragons. You can bring a set or a super set of potions to make killing the blue dragons quick and easy. For mages you don’t need food or rangers but you should bring your runes for whatever your casting and it should be at least bolt spells or higher. For you rangers bring whatever arrows you like and a mage bow or above. Also crossbows are a good option here since you can wield your shield in case or a god book.
An example of my inventory minus the gold, dragon bones, and rune dagger.
You can bring food higher than lobsters which will make you last longer.
The dragon dagger is for poisoning the dragon so if you miss a couple of times you can still inflict some damage. Even if you’re really high level you should bring some food if your going to melee because your probably going to be hit by dragon fire.
For warriors who don’t want to use up as much food and have 43 prayer than you can wear a high prayer bonus outfit and pray upstairs on the ground level with the altar.
A warrior using protection prayer should use this equipment though the helm is optional, weapon, boots, and gloves. You can switch the proselyte if you never did slug menace for initiate armor but proselyte has a better bonus.
For you rangers and mages this safe spot is commonly used since the dragon can’t reach you:
For you warriors who don’t feel like using protect from melee or can’t use it you can just take both fire breath and melee damage. Instead of the proselyte you should have rune or higher and the helm should be rune or higher and helms that increase your strength or slash/stab are helpful too. If you aren’t that high leveled and your prayer is low I suggest bringing more food or potions to help you out.
The outfit for rangers should be blue dragon hide or better with mage bow or better. You should try to get the highest range bonus if you are ranging because defense won’t matter in the safe spot. If you want to be careful put a dragon breath shield in your inventory when entering the cage.
For mages you should wear robes that boost your magic attack like mystic. Like rangers you should focus on making your mage attack bonus the highest you can and forget about good defending armor. If you have a free slot in shield you should have an anti dragon breath shield or zamorak/gothic book and any god cape. Also blue dragons seem to be weak against fire spells.
If your like me and sell the dragon bones you should bank when having a full inventory or running out of food. Just enter the inn in Burthrope and go down the trapdoor to find an npc you can bank at rogues den.
For warriors I recommend a dragon battle axe or abyssal whip with dragon dagger poisoned and 65 or over in strength, attack, and defense.
If you Want to be the first and only one to get the dragon in a crowded place bring runes to cast any spell on the dragon and hover your cursor over the area where dragon pops up and click immediately after in appears and than everyone will curse you and world hop=).
The prices of a dragon bone are 2k per bone and the blue dragon hides are about 2k too but dragon bones are more in demand.
The bets drops are not listed in any order:
- Level 3 clue scroll (I get one after every 30 dragons)
- Dragon bones and blue dragon hides always
- Rune daggers sort of
- Dragon medium helms
- Dragon spears
- Left half of square dragon shield
