Castle Wars
Castle Wars is a members only capture the flag type mini-game. It is one of the most popular mini-games on RuneScape, and there are no requirements, so you too can join in the fun.
Getting there:
To get there, go far southwest of West Ardougne. You will reach a bridge. Cross it, then go west and across a second bridge. You will reach a large decorative castle. Enter it.

This is the lobby for Castle Wars. You can bank your items here, see the scoreboard, go to the spectating area, or buy items. For 5gp, you can buy a manual from Lanthus. Read it to find information on the game and the equipment that you can get in the game. Lanthus also sells the rewards, which I will explain later. Finally, there are 3 portals. You can enter them if you have banked all of your items that aren't wearable, potions, or runes. You must also take off your cape and helmet. Once you've done all that, enter the portal of your choice (Saradomin or Zamorak). If you don't care which team you're on, enter the Guthix portal. You'll be put on whichever team has less people and needs you more. The two teams must be balanced. If they aren't, you won't be allowed on the team that has more people unless someone leaves that team or joins the other team. The battlefield is symetrical and neither side has any advantage, so just pick the team that you like better. Finally, you can check the scoreboard to see how many wins each team has had this season (a season lasts until Jagex next updates the game. Only games on that server will be on the scoreboard) or go to the spectating wall (just a little ridge you can go on to see part of the game. Nothing much).
The waiting room:

Once you're on either team, you'll be in a cavern with other players on your team. You will also notice that you are now wearing your team's colours. You'll have a blue (Saradomin) or orange (Zamorak) hooded cape on, and you can exit the room any time with the portal. At the top of the screen, it will say how many minutes until the next game. Each game lasts for 20 minutes with 5 minutes in between. During the game, if there is a free ingame space on your team, you will be asked if you want to join. Quickly click yes to enter. When the 5 minute waiting period between games ends, everyone will automatically be teleported into the game. When you're in the waiting room, you might notice some players that are sheep, imps, or bunnies. Becoming one is simple. To become a bunny, wear a Guthix or Zamorak item into the Saradomin portal. To become a sheep, wear a Saradomin or Zamorak item into the Guthix portal. To become an imp, wear a Saradomin or Guthix item into the Zamorak portal. You will get turned back after you enter the game.
The game screen:

1. The status of Saradomin's standard (explained later). It is either safe (in its standard stand), dropped (on the ground), or taken (being held by a member of either team).
2. The status of Zamorak's standard (explained later). It is either safe (in its standard stand), dropped (on the ground), or taken (being held by a member of either team).
3. The health of the front door, which is lockable. When it's locked, the enemies cannot open it from the outside and must attack it to break it down. This shows the health. Once it's at 0%, it stays open and must be repaired with a toolbox.
4. The status of the side door, which is lockable. Anyone can lock it. Once it's locked, members of the enemy team must pick the lock if they want in.
5. The status of one of the rock barriers under the castle. Once it's collapsed, you must mine or bomb your way through to clear it.
6. The status of the other rock barrier.
7. The status of your team's catapult. Enemies can destroy it so that your team can no longer use it. If it's destroyed, it's no longer operational and your team must repair it with a toolbox.
8. The score. It will say how many points each team has.
9. Multicombat swords, which indicate that the whole arena is multicombat. It also says how much time is left in the game.
Also worth mentioning is that your team has blue dots on the minimap. The enemy team will have white dots. All players will have the attack option, but it will be the main option on the enemies. It will be moved to the right click menu on your teammates, and you won't be allowed to attack them.
