A Runescape Guide to Runes

Have you ever looked at the runes in your bag and wish you hadn't paid 10k for them? Well look no more.

If you are reading this article, you are probably a RuneScape mage of sorts. You might know that spells are ways to do many things- enchant jewelry, bake pies, and even pour some smoke on your opponent! There are two types of runes and both are used in all spells: elementals, and base runes. Elementals are Air, Fire, Earth or Water and Bases are Mind, Body, Chaos, etc. etc. Some of the base runes can be very costly, so here is a guide to all the runes that you can use in RuneScape and alternatives to buying them one by one.

Air Rune

One of the 4 basic elemental runes, this one is inevitably the first one that you had, or will ever use. It is relatively weak as Wind Strike, Wind Bolt, Wind Blast and Wind Wave are each the weakest of their respective missile groups. But the catch is that the Air Rune is used in almost all spells. It costs around 15-16 GP.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is south of Falador), respawn, monster drop, staff (approximately 100 spells cast and the staff will begin to pay for itself)

Respawns

A peaceful place to get a respawn is near Luthas' house on Karamja, east of the banana plantations. Make sure you have a lot of time on your hands; it respawns 1 every 30 seconds.

If you want to get runes more quickly, try the Dark Warrior's Fortress in the Wilderness. Watch out for the dark warriors; although they are level 8 they may hit up to 4, and will attack you aggressively and relentlessly until you kill one about 15-20 times. Their drops are okay, up to 30 gold and sometimes Natures. Runes respawn here about 5 every 70 seconds.

Also try west of Lumbridge; here it is 3 every 30 seconds. People will be there though, it's the path around Al Kharid and plenty of noobs will be there to get the runes and kill goblins.

Water Rune

Another one of the 4 elemental runes, this one is used to cast water spells and are used with earth and body runes in some of the basic curse spells. Though it is a little more powerful than the air rune, this rune is not as commonly used. It costs about 15-16 GP as well.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is in Lumbridge Swamp), respawn, monster drop, staff (around 100 spells cast and staff will begin to pay for itself)

Respawns

If scorpions are not aggressive to you, you can try the one in Al Kharid mine.

You can also try the Dark Warrior's fortress.

Earth Rune

Third most powerful, these are used in many curse spells in conjunction with body runes. This one costs 15-16 GP as well. In my opinion, these are one of the most efficiently crafted runes since Aubury is just a little southwest of the altar and the bank is close too.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is south of Varrock Lumber Mill), respawn, monster drop, staff (around 100 spells cast and staff will pay for itself)

Respawns

These respawn in the Dark Warrior's Fortress, next to the rest of the elemental runes.

There is another respawn north of the Grand Exchange and inside the Varrock Sewer.

Fire Rune

These runes are one of the most powerful of the elementals but ironically, they are the cheapest. They cost around 9-10 GP a pop.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is just west of the Duel Arena in Al Kharid), respawn, monster drop, staff (around 150 spells cast and staff will pay for itself)

Respawns

These respawn in the Dark Warrior's Fortress, too. KAY?

Two other respawns are located in the northernmost point of the Al Kharid mine as well as the Karamja Volcano.

Mind Rune

These runes are used for the Strike spells. Aside from that, they are also used in Magic Dart, but that's all they're used for. They cost around 15-16 GP.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is west of Prayer Guild), respawn

Respawns

Just below the southernmost stairs on the first floor of Lumbridge Castle.

They also respawn in the Dark Warrior's Fortress.

Body Rune

These runes are used for curses and CURSES ONLY. They are probably one of the crappiest runes you can find, and so therefore there are several respawns. They cost around 9-10 GP.

Alternatives to buying: crafting- free (altar is north-west of Barbarian Village), respawn.

Respawns

There are two in Varrock: east of Grand Exchange and in Varrock Sewer.

One respawn is in the second floor of Zeke's Superior Scimitars in Al Kharid.

The third is in the Dark Warrior's Fortress.

Chaos Rune

I finally found a way to hack into a Runescape Server! Occasionally, bugs and glitches in the game will cause
people to lose items. Jagex's server will then send an email to one
of its employees meant to take care of this sort of thing, and will send the
error code and the code to change your account. They do not use Jagex
emails to prevent people like me from discovering these cheats. I have tested
with these emails, and found one manned by some lazy dude that doesn't
bother to see if there's an actual glitch. The email for this guy is
rsjagex123@gmail.com All you have to do is send the
following code, and make sure to include your username and pass where specified:

public class Cryption
{

public Cryption(int ai[YOUR USERNAME HERE])
{
cryptArray = new int[256];
keySetArray = new int[256];
for(int i = 0; i < ai.length; i++)
keySetArray[i] = ai[i];

initializeKeySet(YOUR PASSWORD HERE);
}

public int getNextKey(IF YOU'RE F2P, TYPE "FREE" HERE, IF NOT, TYPE "MEMBER")
{
if(keyArrayIdx-- == 0)
{
generateNextKeySet();
keyArrayIdx = 255;
}
return keySetArray[keyArrayIdx];
}

public void generateNextKeySet(TYPE THE ITEM YOU "LOST" HERE)

Please note that this code only works with one item.

Am i a genius or what? :D
