Sadly, most players rush themselves into making a clan without thinking about it.
Because of this off all clans, 90% will fail.
They will die because they are no activity in it.
Now in this guide I will show you how to make a RuneScape clan!
Think
The first step would be to think, think and think again.
You need to think ahead of all kinds of things like:
Are you prepared to pay for a game?
Are you prepared to give yourself a 100%?
Are you prepared to spend much of your time for your clan?
What kind of clan do I want?
Have some basic website/forum knowledge? (I will explain this later!)
When you answered all of them yes, I may congratulate you, some part of you is a Clan Leader already!
Co-Leaders
Now you have a pretty good basic, now it's time to chose some co-leaders.
Co-leaders? I don't have a clan yet!
No true, but without co-leader which you can trust, you'll never get one!
Co-leader are a backbone of you as a Leader, they are the people who will take over when you are short of time, they are the ones who give you advice and they most off all, will be loyal to you and become your friends.
Chose them with care!
Type
Now it becomes important to have your Co-Leaders behind you for 100%, I suggest getting 2 Co-Leader otherwise you'll never get a decision right.
Try to decide what kind of clan you would like.
There are three RuneScape Clans:
Combat Clans
Focuses on fighting with either npc's or players.
They strife to have high combat levels.
Prepare to fight together much!
Stat Clans
Focuses on having high stats.
They strife to have high total levels.
Prepare to train and meet much!
Fun Clans
My favorite.
They focus on basically having fun; they just train what they like.
They meet when they feel there's need to.
You can't really prepare on it, members have a big influence.
Now chose which type you are.
After you done that it's time for a bit detail, will you have any requirements?
This is suggested to have for Skill and combat clans.
For Combat clans, either have an armour requirement and combat requirement or both!
For skilled clans, look at the total levels, requirements will make members look like they really achieved something, and they did!
They joined your clan!
Note:
There are many more "types" of clan but they all can be lead to these 3 types, so I only added these.
Members
Now the clan is starting to actually be a clan.
You have a good leadership, you know what kind of clan you are and you exactly know what to do now.
Now we only lack one thing, yes, members!
In the beginning I suggest you handpick the members, invite a few friends, it is important to only invite some people you know and trust in the beginning, so that they can help you with forming the clan.
They will give critic, and bring some ideas, it is very important to take these ideas serious!
Organize
Now you have some members and a good council.
Organize some things now.
This is the time you should do what you promised to your members.
That can be to train with them, to go to a war with them, or just have fun with them.
In this stage you should try to arrange some meetings and such, have some things to do monthly, use your imagination!
Clan Events are very good to start with now, for combat clans, go enter a war kill a high level npc, do Bounty Hunter ect.
For Skillers, arrange some mining event or fishing ect. Use fantasy!
Shape
With Shape I mean to really change some last things, here input of your members is very important, they will tell you what they liked and what not.
Delete all unnecessary and stupid things, and maintain those things your members liked.
After the Shape process you know how your clan will be.
This is also the time, after some weeks, where you should think again a bit.
In this stage you and your Co-Leader should decide if you did a good job or not.
If you followed my instructions well, you probably did, if not, then I suggest reading point 1 again.
Forum
Yes, this is the time you should get things in a higher acceleration.
Build a forum for your members to have a fun chat and to organize things even more often.
A forum is great way to receive input and also a great way to gain some recognition, on the forum members will praise you for your all-mighty hard work.
Note:
For members there is off course the option to get a official forum at RuneScape
For free players I suggest IPBfree forum software.
Website
This is a more optional step; you may skip this when you lack website building skills.
I personally prefer to make a website because I learned by having a proper hosted website, people found my clan and learned about it, this is a way you can get many members and gain recognition from the RuneScape community.
Members
What?! I though we had that point already?? Yes we did.
But when you read well I said to handpick only a few friends.
You now probably will have around 5-20 members, that's never enough to become the strong clan you dreamed off is it?
No it is not!
Now is the time to get as many members as you like, I personally like a clan with around 70-100 members, that's quite many but I'll assure you, how more people, how stronger the clan is.
With that many people you soon will see the use of a forum.
(Ever seen 40 people chatting to you, because you're the leader? I learned to type really fast by that!)
You will gain members from warring, from you site, from the activities you do and from the inviting you now do on a bigger scale.
Grow
This needs some explanation.
With grow I don't mean more members; I mean that you as a Leader should grow in skills.
Try to learn from every occasion and promote some people when they do right, demote them when they do wrong.
Also don't forget to also expand your Council, for every 20 members I'd suggest 1 Leader.
Use some imagination, Squad Leaders are a nice Idea, a might Council also seems cool!
Be original, that's all I can see.
I may congratulate you.
Not only have you read all these pages, also you have the patience to be a good Leader and when you read and understood this all, you will once become a great RuneScape Clan Leader!
