Guide to Tremulous

Tremulous is an Online FPS (First Person Shooter).

This means that you control your player from their eye view. It also means that you can play with and against people from all over the world if you have an internet connection. The game consists of humans against aliens. The humans have the advantage of long range weapons and all sorts of upgrades making them a good first choice for newbies. The aliens have the advantage of speed and health regeneration therefore they are better in battle on the field, this class is a much harder class to play as so not many newbies chose it. They also have a large range of different types of aliens they can evolve into making them even more deadly. Over time and with kills humans get Credits which they can use to buy new upgrades. Aliens get points called Evolution Points (Evos in short) which they can use to evolve into bigger and better things. The game is not only one of attacking but also tactical building. Each team has a base they must defend at all costs because it is the key to their survival. The bases can be moved about but some places are much better than others. The most important structure is called a Telenode (Human) or an Egg (Alien) or in other words a spawn. This structure is what everyone comes to life in and is the most important structure for both teams in the game. Whenever you spawn you will be given the option to spawn as a basic troop or a builder. If there are no spawns left on your team you cannot come back into the game until another one is built. The game is over if all the spawns and players on your team have been destroyed. Whichever team accomplishes this objective first wins the game. The Game is based on stages. Whenever a team reaches a specific number of kills they go up a stage. This stage increase either allows them to evolve into more things (Aliens) or allows them even better upgrades (Humans) or allows them to build even more different types of buildings. The highest stage any team can get to is stage 3.
