Entropia Universe isn't a computer game in true meaning of that word. The thing is that it has real cash economy. That means that players play with real money. This money can be transferred in and out of Entropia Universe. The game's economy is linked with American dollar. One American dollar can be exchanged for ten entropia universe dollars (peds). Despite the fact that everything costs real money, there are some players who are willing to pay tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands peds for virtual items, estates and land areas. The most expensive things sold so far were bank licenses and asteroid. Every one of them cost one million peds. That's hundred thousand American dollars.
Some people say that Entropia Universe is only a big casino. Others say it is an investment platform. Both are right in a way. Three main professions are pure gambling. You never know what you are going to get back. However, there are also professions which can be seen as investment. One of such professions is trading and sweating. It is also possible to earn some money by healing hunters while they are hunting. However, the main game's professions are only a gambling. Those professions are hunting, mining and crafting. You just shoot a mob/drop bomb or click on a crafting machine and wait what you get back. The most players of Entropia Universe do one or more of those professions. And I must say that many (if not the most of them) mostly lose their money. Profit is almost granted in trading. However trading is very slow and boring.
All these professions will cost you money. That can be big problem if you don't want to put in real money. There are ways to earn some money without putting them in. One of those ways is finding fruit, natural stones, dung and gathering sweat from the mobs. Sweating is the fastest of them.
Graphical side of the game is nothing great. However it is on a higher level than many other online games. Entropia Universe should soon change to Cryengine 2. That means that this game will have much better graphics than any other online game and most single player games too.
If you decide to enter the world of Entropia Universe, you shouldn't forget that it is better not to risk too much because it can have consequences in real life also.
