A while ago I had the bright idea to create a guide to teach you how to make money in Endless Online. I was almost done with it but something happened. I never finished it. Why? Because while I was creating this monster of a guide, I had a revelation. Why the hell am I playing Endless Online in the first place? there are hundreds of better MMORPG's I could be wasting my life away on. Surely I could do better. Among the many aspects that make up Endless Online I don't think I found one positive thing to say about it. Lets go down the list:
Loot System
The loot system lacks substance. Many monsters have such a poor drop rate it becomes too much of a hassle for you to even bother. I personally formed a party and went phoenix hunting, and an two hours later, Still came up empty handed.Experience Points and Levels Experience Points
are one of the hardest things to make in the game. It's bad enough that entire areas of the game are blocked off to people who don't have a high enough level. How much EXP you have to get in order to gain a level becomes astronomically high after just a few levels in. Then you have to deal with competition stealing your experience. The Competition - Squatters and Hordes
You always have that guy who stand in a strategically positioned area on the field so that he or she can fling magic or arrows from 10 tiles away, striking the monster your just about ready to attack. You go for another thinking that person is occupied and will let you attack another monster... Nope, They take two or three, or even more monsters out from under you, keeping you pretty much without. When you complain, you get told: "ROFLMFAO **** off N00b".Hostile Spammers
Because of "Global Spammers", you can't walk into Aeven's town square, bank, or check global chat without fear of being disconnected. It's been speculated that spammers take advantage of a bug and eject an entire field of people. Whatever the method, spammers have used this tactic to steal the final strike on Boss monsters and win over rare items.Annoying Spammers
Not quite as hostile but annoying none the less. While you're in town or in the bank trying to sell goods, you'll have someone spit out "Selling Armor!!" He'll walk a space or 2 south of you and block out what you've got to say with his own text bubble. Damn if he won't do it every time you try to speak too.Beggars
I'm all for helping a newcomer by showing him the ropes, but not a scammer or some lazy ass. Endless is littered with naked people begging for free items and money. Chances are, they're a higher level than you and just trying to scam you out of your things.Scammers
Scammers come in all shapes and sizes. Its a little funny, and kind of sad to watch how a scammer will attempt to convince you that you can duplicate your rare items by dropping them on the floor. A recently created scam involves a person quickly changing the offered amount of money before you accept, in hopes that you don't see that you just handed over an Ultima for 70 gold.One-Sided Trades
No, I'm not going to sell my Heavy Eloff (16k) and Ultima sword (7K) for 134 gold and some rat tails. Don't try to convince me the street price of My Heavy Eloff is 4k. Quit calling me a n00b for rejecting your trade. And for the love of god, Stop saying "Pllllllzzzzz???!?!?!?!".Cheaters
Nothing says **** off like a speeder who steals all your kills. Note: Speeding is when a character moves quicker than all the other characters, in order to reach and kill things faster than you can.PK Zone
The lease of my issues with Endless Online but any irritating one none the less. The Player Kill Zone (PK zone) is an area dedicated to allowing combat between players. The players begged for this long and hard (just because Runescape's version was so kick ass) they finally got it. Unfortunately EO's lackluster version did not include safeguards against Level 20's attacking Level 5. That coupled with the speeders; You really can't enjoy it.Beware If You're A Girl
I have several female friends on endless who tell me the horrors of playing as a female online. Chances are, you can't go one day without having someone hit on your avatar. Guys, The fact that your saying "Hawt" to a video game sprite is disturbing enough, but trying to cyber on a children's game is just plain wrong.
Coincidentally, There are females who use this to their advantage by befriending people and cybering for Rare Items. Digital Prostitution? Hmmm... I'm not going to ponder on this one for too long.
To be fair, you can't expect the administration to fix every problem in endless but there is a fine line between playable game and utter trash. Endless lost it when the spammers moved in and the mods were left helpless to fix anything (that or they don't care). When Vult-r personally takes care of the problem or when the spammers finally get tired of destroying Endless, I might play again. Till then, I think I'll finally check out World of Warcraft.
