World Of Warcraft
The biggest hit game in years. Everyone who plays it states it is the best game ever created, everyone who doesn't play it anymore states it is the worst game every created. Summed up in a nutshell World of Warcraft is a game for those of us who have all the time in the world, and nothing better to do with it. World of Warcraft is a great game to play if you enjoy the long grueling path of Grinding for hours upon hours and the months of doing the same things over to achieve a WoW Nirvana, (“If you take the hardcore route”).
It is a wonderful team based game due to the Instances and small battleground pvp. The downside is the Aspect of the game isn't very hardcore, the only really hardcore thing about the game is the hours you spend working to get your money or that new epic item in an instance. It isn't very hardcore in the sense of death like many other games are. When you die the worst thing about it is the 1-10 min walk back to your lifeless corpse laying in a pit of molten lava.
There is no real negative effect, you don't lose item (“or gain them from killing others”) and you don't really lose XP. Of course you may have to pay 2 gold out of your whopping stack of 500 in order to repair all of your items. If your Truly looking for a Team based hardcore game then what your looking for is Eve online. If you're a casual gamer that likes to just log on after a long day of work and run the same instance you did yesterday (“Which Can always be fun”) then WoW is the game for you, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Eve Online
In my opinion one of the best online games created, Wonderful graphics and a different form of Game Play. If you're a super casual gamer and don't have much time to play, then you don't have to worry about grinding to catch up to your buddy's you just need to log on every once in a while and change your skill. This game has a wonderful Group PvP aspect and is very challenging, your skills train over time so even if your not playing your still gaining, its fully legit to sell a time card to get some starter cash when you first start as well. Order one online and sell it through the game and you will have enough money to last you 2-3 months after you start.
The Group play in the game is spectacular, you can mine and protect each other with numbers in High Security space, or you can Risk it all to make some quick cash by venturing into the Chaotic Abyss of Low Security Space. You can get into industrial / mining, (Making Ships / Guns / Ammo, That everyone needs, instead of some second hand item that no one will buy). Or you can go to the PvP / Missioning side of things which involves lots of blowing things up and Pulse Quickening battles. The only downside is when you get blown up in eve, you lose whatever you were in. There is no running back to your corpse here, (But due to new ships / expansions there was a massive price deflation in all ships, making it easier for newer people to afford their things).
Eve Online is definitely a must try game that you should have on your list, you download it off of the internet and pay monthly, (“Try the 14 day free trial and see what your missing”).
Diablo II
Diablo II is a wonderful creation by Blizzard, the downfall is the three month character freeze, you must play on each of your characters at least once in three months or they will be as good as gone.
Other than this and the numerous scammers Diablo II is a great game for those looking for some quick fun, try to beat the game yourself or take the easy route and just get people to rush you to the end of each act and grind yourself up like everyone else. Like World of Warcraft, Diablo II is a game that gets better and better as your level goes up, there really isn't a pvp aspect to Diablo II, However you can farm bosses like Mephisto in Hell mode to get all your grand rare items that everyone wants. If your ever looking for a game you can master in about a week and be up there with the big shots then this is the game for you.
