Gameplay
Is amazing. Quite similar to the original motorstorm released when The PS3 was first released, but the maps are much better, And the stuff you can do is cooler. For starters the one thing really stopping me from playing the original motorstorm was the fact that i couldn't beat my family with it on splitscreen mode. 4 player split screen is included in pacific rift. Second of all, as well as buggies, Atvs, bikes, rally cars, racing trucks, mudpluggers and big rigs, pacific rift has now invented the monstertruck. Perfect for maximum destruction. The one other update that stands out for me has to be the new form of attacking people. On motorstorm orignal the only way you could really batter someone out of thier veichle was on a bike. And even then your only chance was with another bike and maybe an ATV if you were lucky. if a big rig came along you were screwed no matter how hard your left hook was. On pacific rift the R1 and L1 buttons have new uses as "attack left" and "attack right", which can be used by all veichles.
Graphics
I won't critisize motorstorm 1 on its graphics, because to be honest they were immense in themselves, but with pacific rift you might as well jump into the tv. Every piece of grass is refind to the last detail, not to mention the massive scratch on the side of my big rig!
Storyline
I find all driving games have alot of freedom in thier storyline (apart from the need for speed series), but on motorstorm i wouldn't want it any other way, if you do well you progress and unlock new tracks, and you can always go back to any of the previous races you've unlocked, no matter how many times you've won them. This is not meant to be a criticism in any sense, but the one thing about pacific rift was that when i completed it, unlike many other games,i didn't get the feeling that I had just watched a fantastic movie. But again, it's all part of the game.
Rating
9/10, a great one from me.
