Major League gaming popularly called as MLG is a professional video game league where game battles, Professional circuits, Professionals, and Professional teams are registered and online tournaments are conducted. The games that are conducted at MLG are Halo 3, Halo 2, and Halo: Combat evolved, Gears of war, Rainbow six: Vegas, Shadowrun, and Super Smash Bros: Melee, SOCOM, Call of Duty 4, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The MLG performs these battles at some specified circuits, the selected cities for the 2007 Pro-season are Orlando, Chicago, Dallas, Meadowlands, Charlotte and Las Vegas. A schedule is designed beforehand to select the city and the dates between which the tournament is to be executed.

There are many rules laid down by MLG to be followed by the players when participating in tournaments, some of them are: No Grenade Jumping, Super bouncing, Guardian suicide, and action replays. A typical MLG season is divided into events, which are conducted at different places.
