How to be the Best FPS Player Ever

Becoming the best First Person Shooter player out there doesn't take much effort. Here is how its done.

It doesn't take much effort to become the best player on your FPS game. Here is how it's done.

  1. Keep Up The Sound

Real professional FPS players have a headset, and keep their sound up extra high. This helps to hear if your enemy is either sneaking up behind you, or somewhere near you. It can also help hear your team mates in case they say something important on voice chat. If you don't have a headset, either buy one, or keep your speakers up nice and loud.
  2. Aim Down Your Sights

Another great tip is to always aim down your sights. If you cannot look down the scope on your FPS game, disregard this tip, for this is for games with scope sights only. At times, iron sights can be useful, but when you have the option to, always be looking down your scope. This'll help spot your enemy, and you'll be more accurate and precise.
  3. Defend Your Friendlies

You will be much more respected and honored if you defend your friendlies. Protect your allies to make sure that they don't die. This will result in honor, and chance of victory, since you'll have more players alive.
  4. 360 Sweeps

Do 360 sweeps more often than not. A 360 sweep is when you spin in a full circle, checking if your enemy is anywhere nearby. If you don't do this, your enemy can be sneaking up on you at any time, so always watch your back.
  5. Use Your Knife

If in your game, you have the option to pull out a knife and stab someone, do it. If you get close enough to an enemy, knife him right away. In most games, knives kill your enemy in one slice, so use your knife as much as you can.
  6. Reload

Always - and I mean always - reload. Reload when you can, but never reload in combat if you don't have to. If you're 100% sure no enemies are around after listening closely and doing a 360 sweep, reload your weapon. You'll regret it when you have to reload in combat.
  7. Use Your Surroundings

Another important piece of advice is to use your surroundings to your advantage. If you have 5 enemies teaming up against you, you're going to want to hide behind a box, or get some cover. If there is nothing nearby, try to become hidden in the grass or perhaps the shadows.
  8. Use Frag Grenades

In almost every FPS game out there, you have the option to use frag grenades. If you have a huge group of people on you, throw a grenade! It'll blow them into the worthless pieces of concrete they are. Frag grenades are overpowered, which is why you should use them all the time.
  9. Become a Sneaky Ninja

A fun and effective way to play your game is to become a sneaky ninja. You can do this by crouching, and walking slowly behind enemies and assassinating them. (Knifing them or one-shooting them in the head) This'll relieve stress, and enemies will be unaware of the fact that you're around them. (Unless they know how to 360 sweep.)
  10. Think Smart and Be Tactical

Anticipate your enemies' path. If you can see your enemy going somewhere, predict where he/she will go, and wait. As soon as they show up, light ‘em up. Put yourself in your enemy's shoes, and always know what they will do.

If you follow all these steps, you shall become one of the most powerful FPS players out there!

Terrible article. You really need to cater to specific games when your talking about improvement. What works in CS:S might not work in Halo. Overall, this is a bad article and shows how little the author really knows about multiplayer FPS's
