An easy way to get your girlfriend into the gaming world.
First invite her over and when she shows up make sure your game system is on, rockband is always a good choice for a game that your girlfriend will like, a couple other games is, Mario party, DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), basically any party game. Do not introduce her to the world of gaming with anything hardcore like halo or rainbow six. You can gradually lead up to those games after starting something more light hearted and easy to get into. Now that you have got her playing, don't get competitive, who wants to sit there and get beat every game that they play no one, throw some matches but don't make it obvious. If your girlfriend looks bored, there is more then a good chance that she is bored, once she starts looking bored stop. You don't want to play past her limit. It will take a few hours but if everything goes well she should want to play games with you, this is the time you move up to games like halo, if you do this you can be on her team so you can stop throwing matches and have fun with her.
Not bad, kind of basic, but basic common sense can often be a good thing.

my names runequeen and i play runescape and also halo, you can check out my articles. this is just from a girls experience, ..er, the first time i invited my friend from school over to play halo 2 live, they thought it was awesome because it was like a big IM system with sending messages and stuff. not to mention all the boys that play halo 2 live ;D
but just saying, you don't have to start out with easy games that even an idiot would like. & make sure you go easy on her in halo, like let her win if youre just playing halo with her for the first few times. say ,"how are you so good when i play so much and you just started" etc. so she gets hooked on it
