The first is Damascus, the ancient city Syria. It is the largest city in the game and the hardest to operate in. The second is Jeraselum, and it is the second largest city. It is not as gold colored, and not as much Arabic architecture as Damascus, but it is controlled by the Muslims. The third, last, and smallest city is Acre. When you enter Acre (you never really enter each city because the guards never let you in, you have to find your own way in) there are dead bodies on the ground and various plumes of smoke rising over the city. This is because Crusaders from Europe have just taken the city from the Muslims, and they seriously damaged the city as a result.
In the game you are a hassasin, they were an ancient order of assasins in the Middle East that killed people to preserve peace, basically they killed war funders. Thats what you do the entire game, you kill war makers, people whose actions guarantee that the Crusades continue. With each kill you start doubting your order's leader's judgement in wanting these men dead. With each assignment fulfilled you get closer and closer to the truth.
The present in the game is you were kidnapped by a corporation who are putting you in a machine called the Adamus that reads your ancestor's memories and allow you to experience them.
The melee attacks are very diverse. You have a sword, a short sword on your back, a knife on your wrist, and throwing knives. With your sword you can perform light quick attacks and power attacks. With your short sword you can perform basically the same attacks, but if your enemy is far away and you draw your short sword, you can throw your throwing knives at them. Counter attacks in my opinion is the best function of the game because the counter strikes with the sword and short sword are very diverse and awesome.
The graphics of the game are amazing, each building in each city is different and unique. The buildings that you climb to get a better view of the city are awesome too because the camera view starts circling and you see the game's superior graphics. Also you climb these buildings to find missions to gather information about your target. When you enter the cities you really feel like you are in the Holy Land during the 13th Century.
