We've all played DS games like Mario Kart, Mario Party, New Super Mario Brothers, Mario…. I think you get the point. Because of all this Mario hype, some people tend to miss out on certain DS gems.
Whether it was because they were poorly advertised or just plain overlooked, the following Nintendo DS games are definitely worth picking up. There are a lot more gems than these ones, but these ones are most worthy.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215

I don't know many people who have heard of this game, then again, I never met a person that didn't love it. This game is like a good book on a rainy day. If you like a game with a good mystery and a sense of style, then check this one out. As long as you keep in mind it won't have much action gameplay. Are “Point and Click Mysteries” going out of style these days? Let's hope not.
Electroplankton

This is the definition of interactive art right here. This game is not about getting high scores or anything, but rather sitting back and making music by interacting with plankton. It may sound silly, but it will keep you busy for a long time. Electroplankton is also one of the rarest gems on the DS, so if you see a copy then pick it up right away.
Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland

This is one of the most addicting adventures I've ever been through. It's a spin-off the “Legend of Zelda” series and only available in Europe. It is basically about exploring different lands and collecting treasure. It is set up with a quirky style that will draw you right in. This game has received more play than my Wii itself!
Kirby: Canvas Curse

Kirby: Canvas Curse was maybe popular for a couple months when I came out, but then it was basically forgotten as time went on. This game makes perfect use of the Nintendo DS touch screen and it also has some of the best eye candy on the DS.
Dementium: The Ward

Stay away from this one kids! Dementium was probably overlooked because it was made my an independent company….but that doesn't mean it's bad! In fact, this is one of the best first person shooter experiences you could ever find on the DS besides Metroid Hunters.
The story is a little uninspired, but it doesn't make shooting crazy zombies any less fun!.
