Well, firstly, let's talk about the history of the game! This game was released August 27, 2008 and even before that, the game builded alot of hype already! The game was developed by none other than The Behemoth, creator of the hit game, Alien Hominid. Dan Paladin takes his role as he makes yet, another piece of glorious art. Let's not forget about Tom Fulp, creator of Newsground, had part of the programming, another esstential piece of the game (maybe even the most important!). There are others that took part in the forming of the game yet, are in the credits of the game so no need to post that here! With that aside, it's time to look at the storyline. It is seemed that the game is based on 4 brave knights that have thier kingdom in ruins as an evil wizard takes the kingdom's crystal and runs off. While the buildings on fire, the heroes fought through countless of barbarians.
I won't continue anymore as that would ruin the storyline, however, if you want to look at the spoiler of the whole story, just "wiki" it. Gameplay? It seems that it's the most important aspect in the game for reviews, making the gameplay higher than graphics. Why? I'll tell 'ya! Castle Crashers is the first of it's kind, it fuses games like the popular Metal Slug series with R.P.G aspects. In all the years I've been in gamming, that is the first of it's kind. It combines "the best of both worlds" as it combines the random, spontanious feel of a slide scroller and the R.P.G levels, weapons, minions. It's seriously great! So onto the extra info. ! Firstly, this game is not a cd game, you have to use microsoft points in the Xbox Arcade to buy the game for 1200 points.
That would be around 14$ U.S~. It's all worth it in my opinion! But while there's praise, there's complaints. Sadly, people have problems with the Xbox Live option causing erasing game saves, bad lag, etc. There's been arguements of when the big update is comming, but it takes time to do so. So people will have to be patient for now! Overall, I think the graphics of the game are jaw- breaking, a 8.5/10 at best. It revives the childhood days I once had, oh joy! The gameplay, also revives aspects from old school games and too many sell-out companies can't seem to realise what the mass want.....shame actually. Anywho, the gameplay, I would have atleast a sold 9/10 as it's the first of it's kind, and'll knock yer' socks off! For audio, it has some of the most EPIC tracks I've heard in my life, especially the intro to the game.....awesome. Anyway, a 9/10 as well. Anyways, this is the end of the review. Wish I had more time, but I needa' purchase the game, BYE!
