Yes, I know final fantasy IX is old, but some of you, like myself, still play it, and considerate it a treasure.
It is now very hard to find, it is not available in almost any shop. But to the lucky guys who still have it, I post here a few cool secrets:
Play blackjack
When you finish the game and “the end” screen appears press the following buttons to play blackjack:
R2, L1, R2, R2, up, X, right, O, down, triangle, L2, R1, R2, L1, square, square
And press the start button to confirm.
Alternative endings
Finish the game with cinna’s hammer in your inventory.
Finish the game with the “Save the queen” in your inventory.
Battles for 2 players
Open the menu, go to options, select battle controls, and change it to custom.
Getting zidane’s ultima weapon
In disk 4, Train your chocobo until he becomes dark blue and be able to cross oceans.

Go to the shimmering islands in your chocobo, and put yourself in the exact location, as shown in the map.
Feed your chocobo with a dead peper to get the weapon.
Getting Excalibur I
At the treno’s audition house, buy all the key items, and sell them to the rich people in treno.
After that, buy the magical fingertip from the audition house and give it to the old man in treno, near the inn to get the Excalibur.
Getting Excalibur II
The most powerful weapon in the game, far more powerful than zidane’s ultima weapon.
Get to memoria, defeat lich and check the pillars before completing 12 hours of game play.
Defeat lifa’s tree boss monster
Just cast him the spell “life”. He will die afterwards.
Find the ultimate boss monster Ozma
To find the most powerful boss in the game do the following:
Get a gold chocobo (choco’s ultimate form, witch makes him able to fly), find a circle shadow on the world map (a bit hard to find) while flying and use a dead peper.
You are now in chocobo’s air garden.
Check the big rock until the “?” appears.
To make the battle easier, find all the friendly monsters around the world.
Getting the ultimate eidolon Ark
There are two ways of getting the eidolon.
The first way:
Get two pumice pieces, one you receive after defeating ark in oilvert, and the other is in one of the chocographs treasures. Then go to memoria, more exactly in the place where quinna was swimming underwater.
Walk to the secret cave to the right, and press X many times until you hear a voice saying for you to leave. Say no and a battle begins. After the battle, you gain access to the legendary synthesis shop. Join the two pumice pieces to make a pumice. The pumice makes you learn the legendary eidolon ark.
The second way:
Defeat the ultimate boss monster Ozma in chocobo’s air garden to receive a pumice.
Garnet’s True name
In disk 4 go to mandain sari with the following party: Zidane, Vivi, Quinna and Steiner.
Talk to Lani and then go to the room behind her.
Find the “!” mark and read the message.
Go to eidolon wall and walk right until you hear a sound, then walk left until you hear the same sound again. Keep doing this until a message saying that your hp and Mp are healed appears.
You are now able to read all eidolons notes except for ifrit’s.
Read them all, and for last read ifrit’s note, there will be shown garnet’s true name, as well of her mother.
Secret with Ruby
In the beginning of the game when Baku asks you if you must kidnap the queen or the princess garnet, say that you must kidnap the queen 64 times.
Ruby will enter the room all furious.
Final Fantasy III background music
In disk 4 go to the black mage village with une’s mirror and doga’s artefact, enter the hinn and click on that music player instrument, you will hear a music from final fantasy III Japanese version.
Freya’s dragon chest
If you happen to learn freya’s dragon chest ability, you may power up that. The more dragon’s you kill, the more power that still get’s.
Freya’s dragon chest may take 9999 damage to Ozma if you killed sufficient dragons.
More jewels more eidolons power
If you equip a pumice piece, you learn boost, that power up your eidolons power. But not only that.
For exemple, if you sommon Leviathan and have 99 aquamarines in your inventory, Leviathan’s power is much stronger.
