According to a report from Joystiq.com , The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass has sold a whopping 350,000 copies in just two days. Phantom Hourglass was just released in Japan. This is an amazing feat, considering a Legend of Zelda game has not sold this well since The Ocarina of Time. The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released nearly a decade ago, in 1998.
The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass is scheduled to be released in the United States during the holiday of 2007. This title will be released on the Nintendo DS system. It will also come out in Europe and Australia during the holiday season of this year.
The Phantom Hourglass, is a direct sequel to the Zelda Wind Waker game. The game starts out just after the final events from The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Just like in the Wind Waker, Link uses a boat to sail around the world. Players will also encounter eight different dungeons like in previous Zelda games.
Previous items from the Zelda series will also make a return. Link will use bombs, a bow, shovel, boomerang, and a cannon on the boat. Other returning items will be the grappling hook, bombuchus, and the classic hookshot. Legend of Zelda fans will be able to enter into the flood covered world from the Wind Waker, come Christmas this year.
