Welcome to the top 10 list of weapons and items from The Legend of Zelda. I just wanted to briefly mention that none of the swords from The Legend of Zelda have been included on the list because if they had been, the list would only be of swords. So, maybe next time folks, but as it stands, here is the list of the top 10 Legend of Zelda weapons and items!

#10 Red Ring

The red ring has appeared in only three Legend of Zelda titles (The Legend of Zelda, Oracle of Ages, & Oracle of Seasons). Despite the very limited appearance of this item, it is definetly one of the most powerful introduced to the Legend of Zelda series. In The Legend of Zelda, the red ring cuts all damage dealt to Link by 3/4. Who needs hearts when enemies barely phase you? However, in Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, the effect of the red ring changes. The ring instead of being beneficial to your defense, is now an offensive item. It doubles Link's power!!! What an item! Once again, this is an item that makes you feel strong enough to take on Ganon as soon as you realize what it does. But perhaps this item has only been seen in a few Legend of Zelda titles because it is too powerful. Only time will tell if we ever see this item again.

#9 Din's Fire

This weapon appears exclusively in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It required some magic energy to use, but was definetly worth it. Link would be surrounded by a giant fireball and would burn all enemies in the radius. Also, Link was essentially invulnerable when he used the Din's Fire. Besides being incredible useful when you needed to light several torches at once to get a treasure, Din's Fire was just really cool! It was awesome, and when you used it you felt like you could beat Ganon with just Din's Fire. It's really too bad that they haven't had it in any other game since.

#8 Megaton Hammer

Once again, we see an item exclusive to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This item is found in the Fire Temple and is required to beat the boss of the temple. The megaton hammer can be used to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies, though is a little slow. Swinging the megaton hammer can knock skullwalltulas off the walls and force business scrubs from the ground. Using the megaton hammer is actually a somewhat effective weapon against Ganon at the end of the game, a testament to its strength as a weapon. However strong the weapon is, there is still the question... just how much is a megaton?

#7 Magic Boomerang

There have been several different versions of the magic boomerange in The Legend of Zelda series. It first appeared in the original Legend of Zelda game on the NES. This version of the regular boomerange always is superior in some way or another. In more recent installments of the series, the magic boomerange has been steadily improving in it's usefulness. At first the magic boomerange only had a longer range than the regular boomerange. However, in more recent versions, the path of the magic boomerang can be controlled so that you can take care of those more manuverable enemies. Of course, the regular boomerang is just as important, but it would be pointless to include both the regular and magic boomerangs on the same list, so the superior version appears here. Who knows how the boomerange will evolve in the next Legend of Zelda game?

#6 Bomb

Yes, a simple weapon, but one that appears in almost every installment of The Legend Of ZeldaLegend of Zelda and has been with the series since the begining. The bomb, though very powerful, was never the preferred weapon for fighting enemies (although some enemies could only be defeated with bombs). The true reason the bomb makes the list is that it is irreplaceable for finding secret rooms. Everyone knows the satisfaction of finding a room with a piece of heart or rupees inside. The bomb is the essential tool for anyone who wants to find EVERYTHING in any game that includes it in the weapons arsenal.

#5 Zora's Flippers

The Zora's Flippers, or just Flippers, have only ever appeared in games where Link is viewed from an aerial perspective. They first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. You may ask how this item ranks so high on the list; even above the bomb! Well, to put it simply, the immense sense of satisfaction that you have when you can finally jump in the water without losing any hearts and can navigate to new areas is just too much not to put the Zora's Flippers so high on the list. They opened up whole new areas and secrets for the gamer. Every Legend of Zelda game I get where you can't swim in the water, I'm always waiting for these. Then again, this item wouldn't be needed if Link had just taken those swimming classes...
