Phantom Hourglass DS: A More Casual Approach Welcoming New Zelda Fans to the New Exciting World of Gaming

The Legends of Zelda has gone a long way, with tough puzzles for everyone. Now, as a continuing series of The Wind Waker, Nintendo has gone for a whole new approach. With the game being changed from an M rating to G, you can be sure that the game is much easier. The graphics are more than amazing; it's just another side to the world of Video Games.
I have recently bought the game and the first thing I have realized was that the graphics were better and that it looked more like a cartoon. It seemed like something suitable for children of all ages. The introduction of the game is beyond easy however, the difficulty increases throughout the game.
Instead of going past the winds like Wind Waker, in Phantom Hourglass you draw your route and Linebeck, a sailor will go to the location using the path you drew. You then have the mission of defeating any enemies in the sea with your cannon and take treasure using your salvage arm. Basically, the sea is more exciting now as there are more events.

Dungeons are now something to be enjoyed for most parts of the game as they are mostly straightforward and can be finished in a short amount of time. The game makes excellent use of the touch screen and microphone. The microphone is for blowing out fire and blowing at windmills while the touch screen is used to play the whole game; control Link, drink potions and marking dots on your map as seen on your right.
The multiplayer mode also makes excellent use of the touch screen. It is like a hide and seek game with enhanced features such as stealing force gems and using Phantoms, the main enemy in the Temple of The Ocean King. It may not be the best game, but is a neat little addition which can be used for DS Download and Wifi as well as multiplayer.
Overall, Phantom Hourglass is a great game that should be bought by anyone that has about 20 minutes a day no matter what age. It is a very enjoyable game to be played and will be remembered as one of the most memorable games in the history of the DS.
