This guide will get you through the second Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This Zelda title was also released on the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo Gamecube under The Legend Of Zelda Collector's Edition title. This game was also released for the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console.
How to get to Level 2
From the beginning of the game (you'll see the cave where you first got your very first sword). Go one screen to the east. From here go two screens north. Now head three screens east. On the this screen you will see two paths on the far east side of the screen. There will be a path in the top right hand corner of the screen, and another path towards the bottom right. Take the top path on the right side of the screen and go two screens east from this position.
From here go north one screen and then west one screen. On this screen you'll see a staircase going north. Take this staircase to reach the entrance to level two.
Level Two Walkthrough
Don't forget to use the boomerang you obtained from level one, in this dungeon. It will come in handy. When you walk into the entrance you'll notice a door to the north and one to the east. Head through the east door. Kill all the snakes and you will see a key appear in the room. You must defeat them all in order for the key to appear. Go back to the entrance room and go through the north door. You will see snakes to defeat in this room too. After you kill them all the door to the west will open up. Head through the west door. In this room you'll see more snake enemies. Defeat them all to obtain another key.
Head back into the room you were just in and head through the east door. Kill the three snake enemies and go through the locked east door. Defeat the gel enemies and you will receive the compass. This will give you the location to the piece of triforce.
Go back to the previous room and head north. You'll find Goriya enemies in here. Use your boomerang in combination with your sword to defeat them all. Go through the locked door to the east. Kill the enemies in the room and obtain the Map. Go to the previous room you were just in and head north. Kill all the snake enemies and the southern door will open up. You'll also get another key in this room. Go through the east door. In here you'll encounter blue Goriya enemies. These Goriyas are tougher to beat than the previous ones. There will also be statues that shoot energy balls at you. When you defeat the Goriyas, a magical boomerang will appear. This boomerang has a farther reach than the first one.
Head back into the previous room you were just in. Head north. Kill the Moldorm enemies with your sword. You'll get a key after you beat them. Go through the east door. Watch out for the blade traps as you enter the room. Defeat the bats and pick up bombs. Head back into the previous room and go north. Defeat all of the snake enemies and go through the locked east door. Kill all the gels and pick up the rupees. Go north and the old man will tell you "Dodongo dislikes smoke".
Now head back through the two previous rooms you were just in. Now go to the north room. Defeat the Goriyas and pick up the bombs. Head through the north door and you'll enter the room of the boss.
Level Two Boss: Dodongo
Dodongo is similar to the Dodongo boss featured in The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time. You'll need to throw bombs into the Dodongo's mouth. He moves around and keeps switching directions so it can be tough to get them into his mouth. If you don't succeed the first time, you'll run out of bombs. If you run out of bombs you'll have to go search for more bombs and then come back to the boss.
Keep a close eye of Dodongo. The instant he switches in your direction, throw a bomb in his mouth. You'll have to get up real close in order to do this. For it to work, Link and the Dodongo must be facing each other when you throw the bomb. Keep doing this until he is finally defeated. Pick up the heart container and go into the next room to get the second piece of triforce. That complete level 2 in the Nintendo game Legend Of Zelda.
