This guide will show you how to get to level 3 in The Legend of Zelda for the NES Nintendo Entertainment System. This is the same game also released for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo Gamecube. You'll learn the exact location of level 3 and how to finish it.
How To Get To Level 3
From the start of the game go north one screen. From here go west four screens. Now go south one screen and then go east one screen. You'll see the entrance to level 3.
Level 3 Walkthrough
From the start of the level head west. This is the only direction that you can go. Kill the Zol enemies in this room and get the key. Head north into the next room. Go north again to the room with the two Darknuts. Darknuts are the soldiers in the game that have a sword and shield. These enemies can only be damaged from the side or behind. You can't inflict damage from the front. You can destroy them now for treasure or wait until later.
Go into the room to the west. Get the compass in this room and go into the door that is west. This room is full of Darknut soldiers. Defeat all of them and you will unlock the door going south. Go into this room and head down the stairs. In this room with the stairs are a ton more Darknut soldiers. You don't have to fight them, just try to avoid them if you can, while you make your way to the stairs. When you take the stairs you'll get the raft.
If you want some bombs you can defeat the Darknuts. Keep this in mind while going through the rest of this level. Now head back out the stairs, and from inside this room with the stairs, go north two screens. Get the key inside of this room.
From here go south one screen and east two screens. You'll be back in the room with the Darknuts. Go North one screen but you don't have to bother unlocking any more of the doors. You can go ahead to the boss after your done in this room. Defeat all the enemies here and get the key. Head back down south one screen.
Place a bomb on the east wall. Defeat the Darknut soldiers in this room. Head north and get the map. Place a bomb on the east wall to reveal the hidden boss entrance.
Level 3 Boss: Manhandla
This is a tough boss and notice that he has four clippers that try to kill you. If you use the white sword you can kill each clipper with two hits, but each time you eliminate one, the boss will speed up and get faster. You can keep using your sword to kill him and pray you'll live, or use bombs. If you can get a clear shot in the middle of the boss the bomb will remove all four clippers and he'll be dead. Even if you can't get rid of all four at once, it is a lot easier using bombs. You should be able to eliminate two or maybe three with one bomb hit. Just keep placing bombs and using your sword, and you should be able to eliminate this boss rather quickly.
After you defeat him, pick up the heart container and get the third piece of triforce. This completes the third level in the NES Nintendo Legend Of Zelda game.
