He says “who goes there?” A strange voice says to him “I am Navi! I am here to be your guardian fairy!” Link looks at the smallish being and says, “wow, I've been waiting for my fair to come for… 7 years!” “Why don't you go back to sleep and I'll see you in the morning ok?” says Navi. “Ok, I'll see you in the morning Navi,” says Link.
The Next Morning.
Link wakes up at about 8:00 AM the next morning. He rolls out of his bed and looks for Navi, his newly acquired guardian fairy. He doesn't see her. “Navi!” Link calls out. “Where are you?” Suddenly, as if on cue, Navi pops up out of nowhere. Link screams and nearly falls off the balcony of his tree house. “Now what did you do that for?!” said Link. “I don't know I just wanted to surprise you!” said Navi, barely able to breathe as a result of her zany laugh attack. Suddenly, Navi gets serious. “Link, the real reason I am here is to tell you that you, and only you, can save the world of Hyrule. “Whoa!” says Link. “Yes it is true, Link, you have to save Hyrule, but first things first: you have to get a weapon and a shield of some sort.” “Ok,” says Link.
Later…
“Hya! Hya!” Says Link. He chops some grass with the sword that his uncle made him before he died. Navi says “now all you need is a shield, or something to defend yourself with.” “I know,” says Link. He practices rolling around and jump attacks a little while longer. “Ok, let's go” says Link. “I was just cutting some grass to see if I could find a few rupees. “Did you find any?” says Navi. “Yeah, I got 40,” says Link. “Let's go to the store then, Link” says Navi. “Ok” Link replies. Link walks into the store and decides to buy the Deku Shield. He walks out and says to Navi, “So where do I start on my quest to save Hyrule?” “You'll find out soon enough…” says Navi.
