Starcraft caught the eye of so many gamers around the world in terms of competitive gaming. Starcraft Brood War is still being played today as an electronic game in South Korea. South Korea and some other countries in Europe take Starcraft seriously and i do stress seriously. To those people reading this and can relate I can assure you that everything written in my article is pure opinion and I would really love to ask for your opinion as well. Since Korea revolutionized Starcraft I will center more on Korea's Starcraft status.
During the years 1997 to 2003 Protoss players find it hard to cope up with proleagues both local and international. It seems that Protoss lost credibility and majority of the gamers around the world shifted to other races. The proleagues in Korea then decided to hire proffesionals in and outside the country and few advices from Blizzard, the studio that brought us Starcraft. The very reason why Protoss cant keep up is because of the maps being played during matches. To maintain stability and balance, proleagues hired map architects. And from the time of Nal_ra, the dreamer, Protoss has been dominating lately.
The Dreamer
Nal_ra revolutionized Protoss. His micro management of dragoons is absolute genius as you can see in his plays and his expansions are so fast if your not careful you will be caught off guard. He uses carriers in such detail and perfection together with a bunch of corsairs. Nal_Ra is being honored by so many Starcraft gamers. Nal_Ra even bagged a Blizzard Wolrd Wide Invitational competition which means he battled through a very tough competition.
The recent Protoss victories are the living legacies of Nal_ra, from the plays of Best, Bisu and Kal to the latest starleague champion Stork with his outstanding reaver micro. Protoss is dominating with the new Mothership unit in Starcraft 2 as the banner and let the boys in the proleagues testify.
