First you must know what his special moves are to be any good when fighting true opponents.
His special moves are:
- B=bow and arrows
- B+up=spin attack
- B+side=gale boomerang
- B+down=bomb
- Final Smash Triforce slash
Also his grapple utilizes the claw shot which you can use to surprise opponents. Just charge at them making them believe you are going to attack with your sword. When your close enough you use the claw shot to grapple them. The claw shot can also be used in midair which is useful when used with the mid air dodge to get back to the stage in case the spin attack isn't enough to get back to the stage.
A good strategy is to throw lots of bombs and arrows from a distance and just keep moving around. When close to the opponent use the gale boomerang which will pull them close enough to you so that you can use a spin attack on them. Using your smash attacks is also important. Your side A smash attacks are best you've got for dealing damage. Using the double slash from this smash attack not just the single slash is crucial for bringing up your game. The second slash is stronger than the first so it's best to try and score a hit with this attack. Finally the Final Smash which will deliver a barrage of sword attacks to a nearby enemy when near them. This Final smash will deal great damage and send opponents flying if they have enough damage.
