As you all may know, Nintendo's latest edition to the Super Smash Bros family was released on this past March of the year 2008 for the Nintendo Wii. Anxious Super smash Bros. fans waiting in seemingly never ending lines to purchase an action packed game. The long awaited for game named Super Smash Bros. Brawl seemed to tease future purchasers by having its release date changed a couple of times. So, it was to everyone's relief when Nintendo finalized this games release date once and for all. The question that comes to my mind after having played it over the past months is, "was it worth the wait?".
Nintendo clearly added many new additions to Super Smash Bros. in its most recent addition of the game, but I believe that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was not the fresh new game nintendo fans deserved. I see Brawl as an upgraded edition of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Both games have entertaining stages to play in and Brawl has many new ones. Although, the stages in Brawl look cool and fun they contain the same intertainment as the Melee ones. Take Delfino Plaza in Brawl for example. It's very colorful and detailed, buy you only play on a platform that occasionally leaves making you battle on a strip of ground of the plaza. Brawl Stages, although seeming much better than melee stages, are still very basic and cliche. Even though Brawl contains new characters they still seem to have the basic A-button(punch/Kick/other and extra move as all of the old melee characters. There seems to be only none or little improvement in the way you are able to manage the characters. They only seem to have improved in color and physical detail. I was also not impressed with anventure mode and classic mode. Adveture mode seems to be at some points a never ending cycle of clouds and useless movement. Regarding classic mode, it seems as if they just put in melee's version of it and painted it over. I have got to say that the one thing out of Super Smash Bros. Brawl that I actually enjoyed was the movie included in it. I was defenitely non-impressed with this game. For now I'm down for playing Super Smash Bros. Melee, because in my opinion the two latest versions of Super Smash Bros. are seemingly the same when it comes down to judgement time.
