Some Video Game Crossover Ideas

Games that could make an interesting crossover, if done properly, of course.

As we have seen throughout gaming history, crossovers have happened and sometimes can be hits and can be misses. You just never know what is going to happen and who is going to get it done. Most likely, the crossovers that are about to be selected will most likely never happen. It has to do with some issues over how to display the characters in the right context and of course the game play. Remember there was a game called Battletoads and Double Dragon putting together two franchises and it can work if done right.

I have a few different ideas for crossovers but chances are you may or may not agree with this. Most likely these are probably not going to happen but it would be fun to see how they would turn out. Also, there will be information regarding what type of genre should it be in order to achieve the best you can possibly get with this. There are maybe three possibilities but even that could be a bit of a stretch. Each of these games would not affect the stories of the respective areas and would be treated as its own entity.

DC Vs. Marvel

The two biggest in the comic book world having it on the video game world would be something. I do not believe it has ever happened nor have I seen it in stores. For this to actually work, it would need to be a fighting game because that's the only it would work. Don't you think that something like Marvel vs. Capcom wouldn't be nearly as good if it had been another style of game play? In this game, you would put some of the ones from Marvel and some from DC and have them battle it out. There could be a challenge mode to perform certain tasks to eventually unlock another character.

Halo & Metroid

This would be a non-canon story, as neither would have any type of affect on the other universe. Both have different stories being built and are represented by both Nintendo and Microsoft. Unless both work together on this project or some fan makes a game out of this, it is probably the most unlikely to happen. The story could involve actually Gravemind fighting and then along side teaming with Ridley and Mother Brain to take over the universe or something like that. Those characters would be the primary bosses and could have two endings depending on who you use to start the game and a joint ending if you play a two player game of course.

Mario & Sonic Adventure

This would be non-canon but is actually likely to happen. We have seen them in the Olympics though that is a sports game and also appear in Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm talking more like an adventure story. It could be a classic 2D platformer game most likely on the Nintendo DS. It could be something along the lines of either Eggman gets sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom or Bowser is in Sonic's world. It would have a Mario and Sonic mode as well plus you could add the what-if evil mode having the villains come out on top if that is your preference.

These are some possible ideas that could potentially work if only given the right opportunity and the right light to shine. Most likely these games will not happen probably due to creative disputes on how to make the game. If I had to venture to guess in the order of likely to be made, it would go something like this: Mario & Sonic Adventure game, DC vs. Marvel, and then Halo vs. Metroid. Halo and Metroid combination probably will never see the light of a console and that's a shame because I think that it could make a great FPS style gaming. In order for that to happen, it would have to be on the Wii and 360 console wise but if you ever expect something like this to happen, it will need to be a fan made game but it can never be sold to anyone for profit. These are some ideas that could work, will there be more? Possibly and it could involve polar opposites.
