The first Red Alert came out on the computer in 1996, by Westwood Studios, which was later ported to the Playstation. The second Red Alert was released in 2000 for the computer.
The story of the Red Alert is that all the crazy experiments in the 70s worked. The most important being time travel. Red Alert 3 picks up where Red Alert 2 left off. The Soviet Union goes back in time to restore power; however, things go bad and Japan gets involved.
They go back to the future and world war III breaks out. The developers are trying to keep with the full-motion cutscenes old look, but they are changing some things as a third faction are being added to the game play, and this new faction, “The land of the rising sun” Japan, will be playable. Also a new addition to the game is that there is a new game mode to add more depth. There use to be just the single campaign, and multiplayer. Now they are adding the ability to do a cooperative mode. This means that now you can play with friends on campaign, or with a computer-controlled ally.
Red Alert 3 will be on the PC, PS3, and the Xbox 360, sometime in October 2008.
