How to Buff You Up in Neverwinter Night 2

The most important buff spells to strengthen your character in Neverwinter Night 2. Use the benefit of buff spells will make your character life longer.

In Neverwinter night 2 and others role playing games magic is an interesting features for the players. Magic can be used as a powerful weapon and to protect your character.

Buffing is the act of casting spells that that will be able to increase your character's offensive and defensife capabilities. These spells usually will affect your character's statistics such as Armor Class, strength, dexterity, intellegence etc.

In Neverwinter almost all spells that able to buff you up are arcane spell. Arcane spells can only be casted by a bard, sorcerer or wizzard. But some of them can be casted by druid or cleric. So when you form up your party is better if you bring both of arcane spellcaster and divine spellcaster, so it shouldn't be too difficult to cover all the bases. Listed below are the most important buff spells in Neverwinter night 2. This list is ranked in the order of their benefit during the game.

Endure Elements/Resist Elements/Protection from Energy:

Endure elements and resist elements will protect your character from a certain amount of elemental damage. These spells will make your character defense better againts fireball, lightning bolt or combust. Enemies usually will use elemantal spells to attack you, so these spells will help you alot.

Mage Armor:

Magic armor maybe the first level arcane spell that you will gain in neverwinter. But the effect of this spell is very useful during the game.Mage armor will add 4 points of AC bonus to the target. Mage armor can be casted to anyone in the party. This is a standard magical effect, so this won't stack with most equipment-based magical AC deflection bonuses, such as Rings of Protection, but is still going to be the largest AC bonus you can cast onto a character most of the time.

Improved Mage Armor:

You will gain improve mage armor at the third level. Improve mage armor has the same effect with mage armor, but it give more AC bonus. Cast mage armor to the member of your party who have medium AC, and cast improve mage armor to member who have the weakes AC.

Haste:

Haste is a good spell thath will give you +1 bonus to attack roll and AC,a 50% movement speed bonus and 1 extra attack per round. Haste will not only affect the caster but also all nearby allies. Cast it before entering into tough battle. Combining haste with your power ful weapon, an extra attack will very useful.

Barkskin:

Barskin will change your flesh into wood. This spell can be casted by adruid or a cleric with plant domain. Barskin will add from +2 to +5 natural AC to the caster. The effect will depend on the caster level. This is a bonus to the target's natural armor rating, which very few other magical effects can boost, so this will rarely overlap with other magical AC bonuses, such as Mage Armor.

Stoneskin/Greater Stoneskin:

Your party will be able to ignore the first 10 points of damage from every physical attack unless the weapon that's being used against them is fused with adamantium, up to the point where it absorbs 100 points of damage, when it then fades away. Greater Stoneskin ups the resistance to the first 20 points of damage, up to 150 damage total.

Improved Invisibility:

Improved Invisibility renders the subject invisible for one round per level of the caster. Unlike normal invisibility, though, the improved version doesn't wear off if the subject attacks. Thus, if you cast this on a melee warrior, they'll gain all the benefits of invisibility until the spell wears off. This is especially valuable to melee characters, since becoming invisible will give all attacks thrown their way a full 50% chance to miss, and they'll also be immune to attacks of opportunity. They may also be untargetable by spells. This confers an obvious advantage upon the subject in battle. The lower-level Invisibility spell has its uses, but Improved Invisibility is the better choice if you intend to fight while under the influence.

Other Buffs:

There is several other useful buff spells in neverwinter night 2 such as Bear's Endurance, Bull's Strength, Eagle's Splendor, Fox's Cunning, Owl's Wisdom, and Cat's Grace. But unfortunately they dont last for long time, 10 round per caster level. All these spells will add 4 points to character's ability score.

You can use bear's endurace to get more HP for a wizzard or sorcerer. You can also use bull's strength to increase the stregth of you melee character. An archer with light armor can take the benefit of Cat's grace.
