NES Classics Mega Man

Who can forget the Blue Bomber, or as our Japanese friends call him, Rock Man?

Mega Man first started out on the NES in 1987 in the original Mega Man. If you do not own an old school NES you can play Mega Man on the Virtual console.

Mega Man is pretty straight forward. You have 6 stages with 6 bosses at the end of each stage. Beating a boss gives you their power. You could play any level in any order but there were ways that would make it easier by getting a weapon that other bosses might be weak against. You might have also decided to take on what was for you the  easiest levels and then gone to the harder levels.

The game play is typical platform. Many consider the original Mega Man series to be platform gaming at its best. The soundtrack is also a favorite of many gamers.

After you defeat the 6 bosses and think you won you learn there is one more level to play. For some particularly those that were not as good at video games this was an upset as you thought you won. For those gamers that love a challenge it meant more great game. Mega Man still stands out as a great game that can still be challenging today.
