- Third Boss: Rundas
- Location: Bryyo
- Scan: (1) Rundas
- Rewards: Ice Missiles
- Sadness…
This battle made me sad. I knew I was going to have to fight him, but still. It made me really sad…Rundas was my favorite out of the three new Hunters. *sigh* Oh well, on with the guide.
As you should know by now Rundas controls ice and he likes to glide around like Iceman from the X-Men. He'll do that a lot in this fight. It's kind of hard to hurt him while he's doing this but if you're fast enough you can hit him with a beam attack, no missiles. What you need to do to actually damage him is to rip off his ice armor, you do this by continually shooting him till he's stunned, then grapple off the armor and the fire away. His attacks are all ice based so there's a possibility of freezing, just press A rapidly to get out. He'll fire blue orbs, you can shoot these out of the sky for health and missiles. Shoot a spread shot of ice, just strafe to dodge. And throw a giant hunk of ice that'll knock off a bunch of health, again dodge by strafing. If he's not gliding around, he's standing on top of the pillars scattered around the room. Just keep firing, strafing, and ripping to finally get rid of him.
- Fourth Boss: Korakk
- Location: Bryyo
- Scan: (1) Korakk
- (2) Pirate Hussar
- Rewards: Continuing
This guy is pretty basic, kinda like the first boss, but with its own set of challenges. First off, focus on the Pirate on the Korakk. Don't forget to scan him before you start firing, you trigger happy punk. All he'll do is fire a red beam at you for the part of the battle that he's there, which shouldn't be long. Occasionally the Korakk will attack, but that's just if you're close.
Once the pirate is dead his mount will begin to get more aggressive. It'll charge at you, and try to snare you his tongue, both do a fair amount of damage. After a few shots that bounce of its hide, you should notice that his mouth glows before he whips his tongue out at you. This is a hint. Shoot it. Then a little dangly thing will drop out from under him (o.O). This is another hint. Bomb the crap out of it in morph ball while you can. This will reveal a grapple point on his horn, grapple it and his damaging weak point shall be revealed. Go into hypermode and use charged attacks (I found if you let it go into corruption mode [where it recharges itself] you can get off a lot more attacks [cool down will stop you from using this tactic for to long]). After that just rinse and repeat.
- Fifth Boss: Mogenar
- Location: Bryyo Seed
- Scan: (1) Mogenar
- Reward: Hyperball
Our first Leviathan boss! Woot! This guy is a bit troublesome…he can recharge what you will be targeting for the first part of the battle. Mogenar is a golem (you should recognize him looking like one of the many left lying around the planet) so naturally he has some sort of power source, which will be the red orbs he puts in himself at the start of the battle. And of course, those will be your target. Keep focusing on one until it explodes and starts to emit a white light…what? Something happened to where the orb you're shooting at isn't where you left it anymore? Yeah, that'll happen. All he did was switch them around so all you have to do is keep shooting and keeping track of where he switches what. Every once in a while he will try to pull out more orbs, DO NOT LET HIM GET A HOLD OF THOSE ORBS OR THEY ALL RECHARGE! That's what made this battle difficult for me. There are four orbs total, three on the front and one on the back.
After that bit of unpleasantness, there's still more to do. Those sockets are still glowing. That's not good… Go into Hypermode and fire at those sockets (the trick from last time works well here too). After each socket explodes he will try to roll at you, just strafe and go into morphball mode to bomb the phazon crystals at his feet to get him back up so you can continue blasting at those sockets. You should have enough energy tanks for at least one hypermode on each of the sockets. When the dust settles your reward awaits, the Hyperball, the first of many hypermode expansions.
Sorry but that's all for right now, time constraints and all…I really am sorry. As much as I'd like to sit on my ass and type guides, I just can't, I've got more games to play. Maybe when I'm finished with those I'll continue this guide. So happy blasting and I hope I've helped. Thanks for reading. Side note, I've noticed that they don't ever discuss a price…Samus is a bounty hunter after all but somehow she doesn't seem to get paid but can still upgrade her gunship every game…odd.
