So you managed to find a Nintendo Wii, and bought Metroid Prime 3: Corruption…and you're stuck on a boss. You're not? Then why the heck are you here? This guide is solely for the bosses. If you're looking for item locations or how to get passed a certain puzzle, I might have an FAQ for those too, but that's not here. I may upload my own videos later so you can SEE the weak points of those sons of S.O.Bs, but that'll be much later if at all. Anywhoo, on with the guide!
The Metroid has always been known for its imaginative, and at times difficult, boss battles. And Corruption is no different. In fact the guys over at Retro Studios have really outdone themselves with number three. I've been following Prime since the first one on Game Cube, and I fell in love with the game the first time I stepped behind the visor of Bounty Hunter, Samus Aran, and ended up pronouncing her last name wrong for two games straight…ahem Anywhoo. Corruption answers those legendary questions left behind by the other two games. Quick Note, I noticed that there are no regular Metroids in Corruption… Now I shall actually start the guide instead of rattling on like the Nintendo fanatic that I am… (I'm going to section this off by leviathan, so from beginning to the first Leviathan boss is in this guide.)
- First Boss: Berserker Lord
- Location: Docking Bay 5
- Scan: (1) Berserker Lord
- Reward: Access to your gunship (which is another scan)
This guy's basically target practice, a way to get used to the controls of the game, much like every first boss in every game on the face of this planet. But it's still fricken fun.
At first this guy has just two attacks, a blue fog that comes out of his mouth; to dodge all you have to do is back up or jump to the side. The other attack is a beam like weapon; dodge the same way as his smelly breath. To make it easy, just lock on and strafe, but do be weary of the edge, that's all I ask. Samus may be wearing a space suit, but it still sucks to be floating around in the void of space. Right now you can't do any damage, sucks I know, but space pirates have finally decided to start covering there weak points. So instead of shooting at the shielding that's covering its main weak point, shoot at the red orbs that are on its shoulders. Once both are gone he begins to shoot purple orbs at you shoot these to send them back at him. You may have noticed he stops shooting them after he gets hit once. I found the best thing to do is back off as far as possible (don't forget about the edge!), and wait for the first one to get really close, at this point he should have shot off about 3 or 4, so shoot them back at him and boom, you've got at least 3 easy hits on him. Once you hit four of them at him the shielding will fall off exposing his weak point. Shoot like hell! If you're not fast enough you'll have to repeat the process. After a bit he's finally dead.
- Second Boss: Meta-Ridley
- Location: Generator Shaft
- Scan: (1) Meta-Ridley
- Reward: Not falling to your death
- Activating Generator
As you may or may not have noticed from the Rewards section, you're falling…fast. Unfortunately, out of all the power ups, a parachute is not included in Samus' suit. Oh, and did I mention the fire-breathing dragon thing that happens to be this boss breathing fire at you? Yeah…you might want to watch out for that… Anywhoo, you now have two types of life meters, one measures the length of tube that you haven't fallen down yet, and the other is your standard life bar.
Damn! This guy's persistent! Arg… (Apparently I'm a pirate…) This is basically the same kind of fight as on the ground of Tallon IV in Prime…with the exception of the falling thing, and you don't have to shoot at his chest. So when you see his glowing red maw, just start firing. Oh, and watch out for the debris falling off the wall. Well, after a bit he will grab you and try to slap you…slapping a woman, how dare he. But you can avoid this by shooting at the glowing spot on his hand before he pimp slaps you…that's about it for this battle; just keep shooting at his mouth
