Three Great Games Or Not

My personal take on three of 2007's most hyped games.

Here are some things that made some of “the year's best Xbox 360 games” awesome or not so much.

Mass Effect

  • The good: Nice graphics, sounds, characters and environments. Not the easiest game play to get use to but the choose your path style and different attributes make it pretty addicting.
  • The bad: A lot of running around and talking to people and wasting time that should be spent killing. No multi player? Come on some gamers do have friends people.
  • The ugly: This game is way too short. Sure there is a human-alien love scene but that doesn't change the fact that just when you're getting into the epic story line you've beaten the game. If you go straight through (no side missions) the game can be completed in a few hours.

Halo 3

  • The good: The awesome graphics graphics that you would expect from the halo franchise. Top notch game play and familiar control scheme make this one a pick up and play. Some sweet new vehicles and a couple new weapons will keep you playing for hours. The online is most improved of all features. There's a lot more battle customization options. The online play is a key factor in reasons to own this game.
  • The bad: not enough offline features for people without Xbox live, to get this game. Once you have played through a couple of times its time to move on.
  • The ugly: It's the same game as the last two only with a different story line. Maybe It's just me but I expected more.

Smackdown vs. Raw 2008

  • The good: Well Jeff Hardy (possibly the most requested superstar for the last 2 games) is in it. The extreme rules match is a sweet new feature not to mention the ability to add your own tracks.
  • The bad: You have no choice but to use 1 control scheme and if you're not used to it, it may take awhile to learn. No online updates for the always out-dated roster.
  • The ugly: Still none of the original features (i.e. backstage fights, create a move, and a butt load of match types) that made the franchise great. Not a lot of new customization features for superstars or created characters. And where is the rest of ECW?
