Team Carbon is a professional Halo 2 team within the Major League Gaming (MLG). It is currently placed second after Final boss in the 2007 Halo 2 4v4+FFA team ratings with 31,200 points. All the members of the team share the same 7,800 points and are next to the members of Final Boss team. Though not considered best, Carbon too have an impressive run at the major events and championships. They are considered major rivals of top teams like Final Boss and Str8 Rippin.
Team Carbon was initially formed at an MLG event in Orlando, 2006. The members used to play for other teams in the past. Once they formed the Team Carbon, their charm worked like magic and was successful in ending the winning streak of 8 games in succession of Final Boss during the 2006 season. They went on to win the final three events of the season downing the same Boss all three times. Their impressive run made the MLG sign them up for a million dollar deal for 3 years. They suddenly seem to run out of steam, placing themselves 2nd, 3rd, and 4th regularly in the late 2006 and 2007 seasons.
The current roster has karma, Gh057 ayame, Gandhi and Shockwave as members. Actually the recent addition to the Final Boss team, Stongside was a former member of Team Carbon. The original name of Karma is Ben Jackson, aged 19 from Texas. He is known for his ever-smiling face and a youthful charisma. He combines the contrasting sides of fun-loving boy with a highly determined player very well. He had an unbeatable record of winning streaks in the 2005 season as an individual. When playing 1v1, he is highly aggressive and pushes the opponent to the door. He assumes an entirely different role when playing 4v4, that of a supporting role rather than the popular slaying roles.
Gh057 ayame is originally Eric Hewitt, from NJ. He began at MLG from the season of 2005. He was with Team EX in 2006 till the MLG event at Orlando, where he was inducted into Team Carbon. His arrival marked the downfall of Final Boss which suffered three straight losses to Team Carbon. Currently, Eric is attending his initial years at the Pennsylvania state University.
The real name of Gandhi is Scott Lussier. He is regarded to have the most accurate snippiest talent in the world. He is also known to be the most humorous of all the Pros at MLG, though sometimes it goes over board and frustrates the opponents. He is the main Slayer within the Team Carbon and has some unique capabilities of throwing surprises at the enemies and knocking them out of the game. He always works hard along with his team to retain their top slot.
Shockwave is really Chris Smith, aged 18 from Philadelphia. He is known for his cool and composed leadership capacities. He keeps the team focused by calling out his team-mates frequently during the game. He sometimes is reputed for his unpredictable style of playing, which makes the foes guessing his next moves. He is an expert in Ball carrying and can single-handedly crush his opponents in objective games. He is seen as a role model in his community for both his skills and character.
Team Carbon is currently struggling this season and hopes for an about-turn of events in the next season.
