Second episode of Half-Life 2 release slowed down till the beginning of 2007

The game will hit the market at the same time for PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

The second episode of the popular first person shooter computer game Half-Life 2 will be released later than had been announced by Valve. The company confirmed that the game will certainly not be available before the beginning of next year. Valve didn’t mention a reason for the delay. That the release of the game is postponed doesn’t amaze the fans of HL2 at all. Half-Life 2 even was delayed for a year between the announced date and the day on which it finally was available in the stores. Although there were excuses made back then, as among many the source code of the game was stolen, through which the release was even extra delayed. Earlier there always appeared a pc-version first, which in the years after was followed by versions for the various game consoles. However this time Valve follows a different route. The game will hit the market at the same time for PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. To manage that tough job, Valve will be assisted with the development of the PS3-version by Electronic Arts.
