On to the flaws of Warhawk we proceed.
Single Player
Warhawk has no form of single player whatsoever. At all. That's right; you can not play Warhawk by yourself. You have to either play with someone, such as a friend or sibling who is at your house, or you have to play online. Considering that not all PS3 owners have access to fast internet, that means an awful lot of potential customers or current owners must rely on other people in their area if they wish to play. If the developers can make the game playable as multiscreen, both online and offline, is it really that much harder to add some storyline and make a single player campaign (even a short one would be acceptable).
Graphics
Normally bad graphics aren't criticised, it's just that good graphics are praised to the heavens. But Warhawk has graphics bad enough to make grown men cry. Why the hell have all the playable characters got square heads? That's the way it was back on the original PlayStation (and some characters even had decent shaped heads back then). We're not asking for much, but some graphics that looked at least half-way decent would be much appreciated.
Controls
The controls in Warhawk are so bad generally, that it is tough to single out just one element. The running and general movement is terrible. Since when do people run sideways at the same speed and with the same style as normal running? The control of vehicles in the game is absolutely horrible, except for the occasional aircraft which moves reasonably smoothly. If the developers just copied the movement scheme from any BattleField game, Warhawk would be just fine.
No Bots/CPU Players
This is pretty much related to single player, though it could also refer to offline multiplayer. Why the hell can't we do like an “arena deathmatch”, where we have to kill a bunch of bots/CPU players? Is that too much to ask for? Is it to much to ask for a common, simple-to-implement feature to be included in the game? Hopefully if a new Warhawk ever comes out, this will be added. Mind you, a new Warhawk game probably wouldn't sell too well.
I could probably keep harping on about the problems in Warhawk, but I'd probably set a record length for an article on Triond. So I'm just going to cut it short here and say that Warhawk has on redeemable features. None at all. I'm going to give Warhawk a rating of 4.2 out of 10, but I actually feel like I'm praising this game now when it shouldn't be. Maybe it should be a 2.8, but I'll stick with 4.2 out of kindness. Don't buy this game, just don't. If you need to play it, rent it. You will probably give it back before your time with it runs out.
