  1. Things you'll need and how to get them.
  2. How the quality of a chocobo is determined.
  3. How to obtain a Mountain Chocobo (Green).
  4. How to obtain a River chocobo (Blue).
  5. How to obtain a river- mountain chocobo (black.
  6. How to obtain an ocean chocobo (Gold).
  7. Chocobo racing tips.

Things you'll need:

  1. 3 Carob nuts
  2. 1 Zeio nut
  3. Lots of Sylkis greens
  4. Chocolure Materia
  5. At least 4 stables
  6. A golden ticket*
  7. The air ship

This item is optional but highly suggested.

  1. Carob nuts: Carob nuts are not sold any where, you must steal them, or win them from Vladorakos, a big monster that kind of looks like a lizard, in the area where bone village is, walk around and you'll encounter him. The other way to get one is to buy it from the wonder square at the gold saucer for 500GP.
  2. Zeio nuts: The only way to get a Zeio nut is to steal or win it from a goblin. You can find goblins on a forested island to the north east.
  3. Sylkis greens: The only way to get Sylkis greens is to buy them from the chocosage on the northern continent, you need the airship because it's that place surrounded by mountains with a tiny patch of grass in the middle, along with a little house.
  4. Chocolure Materia: you have to buy chocolure Materia when you first get to the chocobo farm on the eastern continent, pretty early in the game. There is another one on the third disc at the bottom of the Choco-pen thing.
  5. Chocobo stables: You should rent at least 4 stables at the chocobo farm for 10000 Gil each.
  6. Golden ticket: The best time to get a golden ticket is when you first go to the gold saucer; it saves you a lot of money as time goes on.
  7. The Airship: you get the air ship on the second disc as part of the story.

I don't suggest you start raising Chocobos until the third disc because then you don't have to worry about the story a whole lot.

How the quality of a chocobo is determined

The quality of a chocobo is determined by the monsters it's with when you capture it. Here is a list of the seven areas and the monsters that go with the quality.

Area 1: Chocobo Ranch Area

....Isn't this game like 12 years old? at least it's comprehensive though.

Well, i still think it's the best game ever. It had an awesome storyline, it had really cool graphics (for the time and even now their pretty cool.) and its battle system was simple. i liked to music they chose too.

come on, Who agrees with me? why do you agree? if you don't, why don't you? TELL ME.

Very conclusive. Battle system is great. good ideas for small programmers hoping to program their own games. And it was awesome graphics for the time.
