My name is DeviousTF and I have been playing Counter-strike:Source(CSS) since 1 week it game out with Half Life 2. I've been and out with the game. I've played with hacks and I don't anymore. I feel that it would be fun to make a list of hints and tips about security and about game play to protect yourself and to take your skills to the next level.
Vac2
Vac2 is the protection system CSS uses for protecting its server from hackers.
Take note that Vac2 can be turned off between different servers. When looking at a server list, you will notice a little shield next to the server name. Having a shield means it is protected and when a shield is absent it means that Vac2 is absent. So if you wish to hack, go to a server without a shield.
This is ironic to put next but this tip is don't hack. Hacking in a Vac2 server will get you banned from the Vac2 server. But also some servers that don't use Vac2 use a program called z-block. This is like an alternate to Vac2. It will also block you if people submit demos to the z-block site. So pretty much all servers are protected.
Game play
Walking is essential in the game. It allows you to sneak out against an enemy.
Jumping is your friend. Always jump out from a wall into a crouch. It stabilizes your gun quicker. It makes you a smaller target. And it sometimes takes an enemy by surprise allowing you to kill the enemy.
Save your money. Don't always buy the most expensive gun. Save your money and only buy the guns your good with.
Don't buy the CT special pistol and don't buy the UMP. The CT pistol does horrible damage and the UMP's fire rate and damage is horrible. Don't bother with them unless your good.
Gun Buys
Here is a list of guns that I always buy together as a combo.
Terrorist-CV-47, Night Hawk .50C, 1 HE Grenade, 2 Flashes
CT-M4A1, Night Hawk .50C, 1 HE Grenade, 2 Flashes, Defuse Kit
General- Pump Shotgun, Duelies(T)/Deagle(CT), 1 HE Grenade, 2 Flashes, Defuse Kit(CT)
