Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars: Nod Strategy Guide

(contd.)

Shadow teams rush is another option for the Nod. You should start by building a power plant, followed by a hand of nod, and secret shrine. Create your shadow team, and use Nod Shadow team power to create 2 veteran shadow teams. Sell your secret shrine to get one more shadow team. You will have 2 Veteran Shadow teams and 2 regular. You can't really take out the construction yard with only shadow team, this rush is used to blow up cranes, power plants, and raxes.

Another variation of this strategy that is incredibly effective is build and send a surveyor back behind an enemy base. When it deploys, have two Hands of Nod, a Shredder Turret, and a Laser Turret ready to be placed. Set the Hands as close to their base as you can, set the defenses down to defend them, and pump out engineers from one Hand and rocket soldiers from the other.

Nod Turtling Strategies

Because Nod units quickly get outclassed in the late game, turtling is seem unwise option for them. But it is possible to create a thick web of defenses that is incredibly tough to crack for the Nod. An early attack on a turtler can be devastating, unless you were really speedy with your defense. For this, a turtler needs two or three refineries and at least 3 building que's on a constant building cycle of Shredders and Laser Turret's. Building a large swarm of Rocket Militia early on is also a good idea. They will come in handy no matter what, and can be a cheap protection while you seal your base up.

Combine your defenses with raider buggies without EMP early on, and with EMP as soon as you get it. They will give your defense more mobility, and can knock out tough units cutting the danger to your defenses down considerably. Keep as many as you can afford around your base, and always rebuild after you lose a few.

Keep building a lot of turrets while making sure you are the first one to hit the high tech levels. After that you can choose to go for a massive land force, consisting of Beam Tanks and Stealth Tanks, use Vertigo's and Venoms, or use your super weapon.

How to deal with the GDI

You should rush them as fast as you can. Scorpion tanks can overwhelm the super-expensive Predator Tanks through sheer numbers. Make sure you get to higher tech levels quickly.

Nod anti-air is the best in the game, place them all over to prevent from hordes of Orcas swarming your base. You can also make sure that GDI's Stratofighter attack is a suicide mission. Keep more than one Construction Yard up, in expectation of GDI taking one out with fighters.

Send your Stealth Tanks in a small group to harass GDI's Miners and take out any Refineries they can, instead of waiting to mass up an attack. Slowing GDI's cash flow is the best way to keep their pricey units off the battlefield. The Catalyst Missile is also a great way to destroy a bunch of Refineries that are too well defended to be destroyed by land or air.

GDI anti-air is pitiful, so use your Vertigo's and Venom's as fast attack units on exposed targets.

There are some good strategies to take out the Mammoth. The first is to focus fire a lot of Beam Cannons in order to pop out a Mammoth in a second or two. This is a great way to take out a group of 3 or 4 of them. If they are accompanied by Predator's or some other vehicle, use your Raider Buggies EMP to take out the Mammoths, then send in Fanatics to blow the Mammoths apart. The Buggies should be able to get in past the escorts, and the Fanatics should be able to destroy the whole force.

How to deal with another Nod

Scatter Shredders all through your base to prevent a Shadow Team or Fanatic strike. These will make sure that your whole base is covered with stealth detectors so nothing can sneak in.

If the army has a ton of SAM batteries, then you should give up on an air attack. In turn, you should SAM your base thoroughly to prevent them from using Vertigo's against you. If your enemy however doesn't build many SAM's then feel free to bomb them into submission.

Stealth Tanks are incredibly useful in this battle. They can hold their own against all units in the game, but in a Nod vs Nod battle, the Stealth Tanks are the most powerful easily produced unit on the field. It would be a good idea to park groups of 5 Stealth Tanks and 3 Attack Bikes in places all around the map. If they let their Miner stray from their base, or leave an expansion base unprotected, take it out.

There\'s a major problem with the \"first option\" Building a power plant and one refinery is hardly enough to allow the construction of four warfactories and 6-10 tanks. You\'ll just hit the 0 and be dead. It\'s better to go Refinery > powerplant > warfactory > refinery > powerplant > refinery > refinery > warfactory.
Also you can\'t get the laser upgrade unless you go all the way to the tech tree, by that time it\'s not considered a rush.
Also you can\'t rush with raider buggies with the hope of using the emp, the emp is only unlocked if you reach the top of the tech tree.
The final venom rush would be good except for the fact that it\'s useful for minor harassments, to get the laser upgrade you the tech center (mentioned in the strat) but that\'s reaching the top of the tech center. By then if your opponent is good, they\'ll have scouted, seen your venoms and put up anti air turrets (which tear up any venoms)

In the shadow team rush, it's better to build 2 shadow teams from your hand of nod, call in 2 vets, and sell your secret shrine for a total of 5 shadow teams. 5 teams can take out your enemies refineries which will greatly damage his/her economy.

What if the other player has got a strong turret line along hes base for the rush, use scorpians as a meat sheild to block the anti-inf turrets fire, then when they busy send youre fanatics round the back?

I got a good strategy for beginners at NOD .. it can be used for maps wid 1 or more Tiberium Spikes .
If its a map like Brastow Badlands..
Go power plant ( SELLL .. garrison riflemen near spike ) . another plant > barracks > refinery > war fact > refinery plant > pump 3-5 harvesters . and enjoy .
Or something like tournament arena or tower or dustbowl ..
Follow the same build as above.. but make 8 harvesters wid 2 warfactories and before pumping the 8 harvesters make 5 - 8 scorpion tanks for defense.

the buildings he would sell is refineries ;) if u build a crane first, then powerplant and refinery, sell refinery while having one qued up, u get free riflemen and an extra harvester ;) usually i will have built 6-7 refineries but have only 3 left :P its a way of getting harvesters and riflemen, without wasting your building time pumping harvesters, that way u can pump your tanks/bikes

thx but i think u forgot to mention about the greatness of stealth tanks taking out the harvesters/and 1 more tip dont go head to head in tank battles with gdi,ur scorpions dont stand a chance againts large numbers of pred, mammoth tanks...instead,use them as a divesion while you send in stealth tank/cloak avatars from the back to cut them off also using shadows to infitrate there base n cause some hevoc in early game can really irritat them just remember to cloak all of ur base(S)
