Alright, in my Fallout 3 review I said I would do a retrospective review of Call of Duty 4. Well, I have decided to instead compare the CoD series to the MoH series and see which one is better.
First off there is Medal of Honor, a great series of games, but a little unrealistic. I don't remember the stories of one man being able to plow through millions of troops on his own. I mean c'mon. In all the Medal of Honor games, except the new game Airborne, you play as a regular soldier......not a commando. Also, all the Medal of Honor games seems to jus jumble together in your head into a mash of bland plots. Multiplayer is, of course, terrible. The maps are all far too small and the choice of weapons too limited. This applies for most Medal of Honor games and the one example that was truly bad was Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. The Medal of Honor series gets a 6/10 for it's rather bland but still slightly amusing plots.
Now it's Call of Duty's turn. Call of Duty is a bit more realistic then Medal of Honor. While in the first Call of Duty you do indeed play as just a normal soldier you cannot always run into combat like Rambo. There is always a team to back you up and you have to follow orders to stay alive, if you hear flank left, then you better flank left. Now let's move up to Call of Duty 4. This installment greatly improves upon all other military FPS games of it's genre by giving the player a interesting and emotionall charged story. The multiplayer is great and maps are varied in size. Also a thing I personally love about Call of Duty is the way you swap between characters. Now in 4 you swapped between two characters, a United States Marine and a Britsish SAS. In the first Call of Duty you went between an American soldier, a British soldier, and a Russian Soldier. Also a little easter egg for Call of Duty fans, Captain Price is in(and dies in) all the games, sporting that ridiculous mustache of course. So Call of Duty gets a 9/10 for it's wonderfull story lines and playability.
Well, there you have it. Niner's verdict......Call of Duty is officially better then Medal of Honor. Period.
