This is a game built entirely for fans. If you don't know about bleach then don't buy this. Anywho, this game will remind you a lot of the classic DBZ games. Single arenas, the air stops you and you can not walk any further at the end of either side of the screen, and you press random buttons to bash and smash each other.
That's pretty much how they all go. The game gives you a selection of all the main characters as the DBZ games do, so if you know the anime then one of your favourites is bound to be playable. Personally, I think Urahara would be cool to have in there but he runs the game store instead.
The game doesn't have story play, basically you just do random fights and get to view the cut scenes. Also, when you first start playing the game you must complete a mandatory tutorial with pointless things like, “Press jump twice is called a double jump.” All this stuff you don't need to know at all because it's just obvious, some people read the manual anywho.
The story is based upon the anime and attacks are based on swords too. Like in DBZ, which I will continue to use as an example as most people know it and this game is basically the same as it but with Bleach characters and story, 4 characters can battle at a time and it can be adjusted to have team play and free for all, etc.
There is also multi-player which isn't brilliant. Single card download play means there will be less characters to choose from, so if you do enjoy this game and you have friends or family who you think would enjoy it to, getting them to buy it and do multi-play is the best option.
There is wi-fi play too, but it is of low quality. The graphics are low quality in the first place, 2D and pixelly. The only positive thing I can say about the game structure is that the voice overs made by the english voices for the anime improves the game quality in that it sounds better and you don't have to put up with robotic sounding voices instead like in certain other games.
Still, they do voice overs in lots of games, in things like Call of Duty 4 DS they even read out the messages people say and the characters talk to you with real voices, not text.
I don't think you should buy this game, it is of poor quality. If you want a good fighting game you should buy something like this for the Xbox 360 or PS3 instead.
