The first thing that you want to take note of is teamwork, yes teamwork. That is the key to any successful win on Battlefield 2142. The first thing to do is to join a squad when you enter a game. Squad play is an important part of BF2142 (Battlefield 2142) it gives you a lot of perks that won’t be achievable on your own. With a squad you should have an objective given out by your squad leader, defend, attack, move to this position etc. This will probably mean that you may have the support of five other people who may be able to heal, re-supply etc. So objectives will be achieved quicker and with less deaths and hopefully more kills.
Ok you have been ordered around by some guy, admittedly getting more kills but what perks do you get directly? Well…when you kill someone in the radius of the order zone you get extra points. The squad leader can also use four unlocks to help you out. The first is a squad leader beacon, where you can spawn at the beacon, this is great for when you are attacking and don’t have to run all the way from another spawn point. It can also be used to flank an enemy E.g. place it where the enemy cant see it then spawn there and attack from behind. When completing objectives your squad may earn a field upgrade where you can chose an upgrade to try out you will keep the equipment until you leave the server.
Communication is another key element in BF2142, a microphone would be the best option to tell your team about any threats or what you are doing. You should learn to use the communication panel by pressing q, by default, and when ever you spot an enemy tell the rest of the team about it so they are not ambushed and can support you, remember to aim at the enemy and press spotted for the location to appear on the map. Successfully talking to each other will boost your effectiveness as a team.
Change, if you die in one class and feel that it is not working change it, it is pretty stupid to walk into the same area you just got killed in by the sniper the last three times with the shotgun change to the sniper and kill him. Then if you don’t like the kit pick up a different soldiers one which is a big help when you are a low rank without much unlocks. It is also a good way to try the different unlock before you get them. When you get your first weapon unlock for Battlefield 2142 use it with the kit you most use, if you use assault then grab the defibrillator you can resuscitate team mates with it and gain extra points and earn more upgrades quicker. If you like support the EMP Grenade is a must as you can constantly lob it at vehicles and basic stop it killing you until someone blows it up, don’t worry you get points for that as well. Beware it also effects your vehicles and infantry. For Recon I recommend the RXD upgrade, you place around a control point or a busy place wait for someone to come along and then watch the fireworks. With engineer choose the EMP mine, same as EMP grenade but more powerful, then blow up the vehicle with your rockets. You could also choose the Frag Grenade as well which is pretty good.
Practice on single player, try commanding, being a squad leader, and using all the different vehicles until you are pretty good with them. Learn about all the equipment that you can use learn its weakness its strengths where best to shoot at, E.g. you will kill faster aiming at the head or shooting behind the vehicle. Remember to explore all the possibilities of a weapon some might have alternative abilities, like in the Battlewalker you can fire either bullets or explosive rockets.
If you have ever been tempted to use any cheats or glitches on Battlefield 2142 DON’T. They first ruin game play for both you and the people on the rest of the server. Is it really that fun to know that the only reason you got that huge kill streak is because an aimbot? You could also be detected, think about it if you start doing brilliantly when you never got anywhere near that before, don’t you think that will raise a few eyebrows.
Once you know how you use the weapons you want, when you know about the weakness, then go onto a server and pwn all!
