Soccer-games FIFA07 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will only be available for Microsoft's game computer the Xbox 360 for a period of 12 months after its launch. That has been announced by the software-giant on Wednesday during the Game Convention in Leipzig. "The Xbox 360 owns soccer," according to Microsoft-senior official Chris Lewis. The exclusivity however is only applied to the next gen-consoles. Eventually the games will both be available for the PlayStation 2 and other consoles of this generation.
This could be a slap in the face for Sony in Europe, since games from both series always sold great. Recently Microsoft was able to convince game developer Rockstar Games not to bring out the new part of the popular game-series of Grand Theft Auto exclusively for Sony’s game computer the PlayStation 3 (PS3). This was all surprising, because previous parts in that series appeared each time exclusively for the present PlayStation.
