It is possible that Microsoft is busy with the development of a new, simpler game controller. That conclusion could be drawn from remarks that Peter Moore made during an interview with Games Industry. Moore is responsibly for everything that concerns the Xbox 360 at Microsoft.
Moore reports that Microsoft is busy seeking ways to simplify gaming and making it more instinctively. It should not longer be intimidating for inexperienced gamers to pick up a controller, and at this moment, it is a slightly complex device. "Compare it with that old joystick of the Atari 2600", says Moore. "Everybody knew immediately how to handle that device. I think that we are trying to learn form those days. I’m still amazed about the many buttons on the device. I took some time for me to figure it all out, when I tried it for the first time."
Moore has admiration for the new console of Nintendo. And that counts for any innovation that helps expand the numbers of gamers. "As an industry we always have to do our best to be innovative. We must increase our public."
The senior official of Microsoft would not specifically confirm us what is currently in the make for the Xbox-gamers.
"We are very busy with all kinds of developments, but at this moment I am not going to reveal more information to you.
But we are not forcing ourselves to launch product on the market that are not innovative and instinctively", says Moore, referring to movement sensors that Sony and Nintendo have developed in their controllers.
