Busted out over ₤200 on a new console? Love playing Halo 3 and Gear of War? Playing with all your favorite mates, then boom! Ring of Death. How embarrassing must it be? You blush and run of. Now, the old phrase "Prevention is better than cure" comes into play, so by following the following tips:

- DO NOT play straight for something ridiculous like five hours. Just like yourself, you need to rest, your Xbox 360 needs a rest to cool down
- Get the new "Falcon" motherboard, which is at 65nm, instead of the 90nm ROD prone motherboard. These are cheaper, include HDMI, and use less power, as well as being less ROD prone by producing less heat
- Do not stack the Xbox 360 up on top/or under anything else, this blocks the air vents which therefore builds up heat
- Using such fans is un advisable, as these are 3rd party and will void warrenty
- Many of these also may even make the console itself more prone to ROD
If you do get the ROD, contacting Microsoft and sending in your Xbox is the cure. Warranty is voided if you opened your console, so don't!
