Lose Weight with Your Nintendo Wii

You can lose weight with your Nintendo Wii. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it can be done. People all over the Internet are blogging about it.

The Nintendo Wii is the best gaming system out there for weight loss because you have to get up off your butt to play, unlike other gaming systems that require you to stay seated whilst playing.

The Nintendo Wii requires you to act out the game you are playing. For example, if you are playing a tennis game, you have to swing the racket to play. There is a motion detector in the controller. That is how the motion you make is displayed on the screen. If you are up on your feet playing this game, whereas before you were sitting down playing other games, you will lose weight due to the fact that you are moving your body, not just your hands and fingers on the controllers like previously. You are not being sedentary any longer.

How much weight you can lose is still up in the air, and would depend on how long you play and how active you are during the games. Also, when playing the Wii you are usually standing and it is harder to eat all those snack foods while standing up.

Now Nintendo is releasing a new game that is directly related to weight loss - Wii Fit. The Wii Fit is a white step-on platform called the Wii Balance Board. Now your legs will be active, as well as your arms, while playing the Wii. With this device you will be able to do virtual aerobics, skiing, dancing, etc. the activities are almost endless.

This is a great new concept for weight loss and it will also help get the kids off the couch and lessen the current risk of childhood obesity. This type of gaming system could be a win-win situation for the entire family.
