Remember Atari? R.O.B. the Robot? Super Nintendo? Those were the start of the video game frenzy that has America's youngsters in a choke hold. Back in the day, we were playing our "high tech" gaming machines, but we were also outside actively staying in shape. now with the Xbox 360, Game Cube, and Playstation 3, it is rare to find a household without one. and now, with the Nintendo DS and PSP, no matter where you are, whether a restaurant or a movie theater, some child is glued to their screens. This is not good.
Children are playing these games like we did, but there is one point missing. They are not getting any fitness. But, a phenomenon has entered the nation with the name Wii. Wii is an interactive sort of game that gets as close as we can get to the oxymoron of virtual reality. With the Wii and its newest addition the Wii Fit people of all ages can get a little exercise while they play. This does not take out the requirement for 30 minutes of exercise a day, 5 days a week, but it will help get america there.
