Excite truck has been a game that people have been looking forward to for a while. All the hype was caused by its predecessor, Excite bike. The game is very similar to Excite Bike. Even though you steer with the Wii-mote, the game-play is very similar.
Objective: The point of the game is to complete every race with a B or higher. You obtain your grade by the amount of points you earn. For example, if it requires 125 points, you must earn that much to pass that race. Tricks like air, tree running, and truck slamming add to your point2count. To upgrade to the next “level” of racing, you must earn an S grade on every race. You must earn a little over the required points to earn an S.
Score: 9/10
Graphics: This game has beautiful graphics. The road and environment have amazing details.
Score: 10/10
Controls: First off, the way you hold the Wii-mote is pretty obvious for the scheme of play. To steer, you need to tilt the Wii-mote. It has bonuses such as truck smash, air spins, and air that add to your point total. Controls can be a little sensitive or too insensitive at times.
Score: 8/10
Fun Factor: This game is very fun. I just got the last truck in the long line of playable trucks. It's taken me three weeks to get the last of the trucks, so you shouldn't get bored of this game for a while. The races never get old no matter how many times you race on them.
Score: 5/5
Sound: The default background music isn't really that bad, but the cool thing about this game is that you can insert an SD card and play music off of that while you race. Very Creative.
Score: 5/5
Manual/Tutorial: The manual isn't really needed seeing as the games tutorial is extremely helpful. The tutorial takes you through all of the basics: steering, acceleration, turbo, air turns, etc…
Score: 1/1
Overall: This game is a very well designed game, the controls are awesome, the tutorial is very helpful, and the graphics are spectacular.
