Wii Vs. Ps3 Vs. Xbox 360

The differences between these consoles,Wii vs. PS3 vs. Xbox 360 and can help people decide which console is best for them.

Wii: The Nintendo wii is a console that came out in 2006. This became very popular with all kinds of people because of the innovative controls and the simple learning curve in most games. The controller is a motion-sensitive controller that uses a combination of built-in accelerometers and infrared detection to sense its position in 3D space when pointed at the LEDs within the Sensor Bar. The controller is connected to the console via Bluetooth technology and features a built-in speaker and rumble feature. The nunchuk can also be connected to wii remote and has an analog stick with two trigger buttons. The wii now comes bundled with stronger wrist straps to protect the wii remote. The wii menu is built into the wii and can be updated via an internet connection and this is used to update the messages and create mii's. The wii is also backwards compatible to the GameCube and features four controller ports and two memory cards. It can also connect to the Nintendo DS via wireless connectivity with some games. The graphics on the wii is not up to par with either the PS3 or the Xbox 360, both of which feature High Definition games. Most people have said that the graphics on the wii is the same as the graphics on the GameCube. The wii as a lot of 1st party games from Nintendo like Super Mario Galaxy, The legend of Zelda and Pokémon. It doesn't have a lot of 3rd party games though, and some of the 3rd party games don't use the controller properly, usually it is simple movements like waving the remote around for the character to advance. The wii also does not have a hard drive memory and uses blocks like the GameCube and may require an extra memory card/SD card. The price of the wii is $269.99 Canadian dollars. The wii also has some exclusive games like the Legend of Zelda series, Mario series, Animal crossing and of course, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii.

PS3: The play station 3 is produced by Sony and it also came out in 2006. This console also had rumours of having innovative controls which turns out to be a tilt in one direction will make the car in a racing game turn that way. Sony have said that they planned a motion-sensitive controller just like the wii but they have let out accidentally let out that they are developing a motion and sound sensitive just like different from the wii controller that will apparently use the ps3 eye to sense the person in 3D space (sounds awfully similar to the wii). The console also features a built in Blu-ray player that allows the person to watch movies in HD. Sony also has an online service just like the Xbox 360 and Wii. The PS3 can also connect to the PSP, again just like the Wii. This console has a built-in hard drive. The sizes are: 20GB, 40GB, 80GB and a discontinued 60GB. The prices vary from $200-$400 Canadian dollar. I am not aware of any currently released games for the PS3 that are exclusive, if anyone does know please post it on the comments and I will fix this article.

Xbox 360: The Xbox 360 is produced by Microsoft and was released in 2005, a year before the ps3 or the wii.  The Xbox 360 features a wireless controller (like the rest) that is pretty similar to the Xbox controller. The graphics on this is pretty similar to the ps3. The Xbox 360 can also play games in HD and had an add-on HD DVD player. The console is available in a few different configurations like the elite, premium and arcade. The Elite is available in a matte black finish with a black controller, 120 GB HDD (hard drive), Ethernet cable, wireless headset, HDMI 1.2 (HD) cable, Hybrid Component/Composite (HD/SD) cable, Digital/Analogue audio dongle cable, HDMI port, Xbox live 1 month gold trial membership. The premium is available in a matte white finish with a white controller, 60 GB HDD, Ethernet cable, Xbox headset (in some countries it's wired while in other places it's wireless), Hybrid Component/Composite (HD/SD) cable, HDMI port, Xbox live 1 month gold trial membership. The arcade console is available in a white finish with a white controller, 256 MB memory unit, composite SD cable, HDMI port, Xbox live 1 month gold trial membership, but it does not include a headset or an Ethernet cable. The Xbox 360 also has some exclusive games like Halo 3 and Fable 2.

The elite costs $399.99 Cad, Pro (premium) costs $299.99 Cad and the arcade costs $199.99 Cad

I think the PS3 is easily the best choice for most consumers. While the 360 has some great exclusive titles, it's pretty much at the end of it's lifecycle in terms of what it can process graphically. The PS3 on the other hand is only now beginning to hit its stride and will be around for the next several years. Not to mention the addition of a blu-ray player makes it a good purchases for people that aren't even interested in playing games. I've been working with Warner Home Video on some blu-ray projects and the format is just incredible. Definitely worlds ahead of DVD.

The Wii is the best! The XBOX 360 is pretty cool though. The PS3 is useless.

The xbox 360 is the best!!! It has superior graphics and superb handling on games. The wii is pretty cool and innovative but the ps3 is useless and a waste of money.

360 has way way way more games than wii, and if you don't feel like waving your hands around to make things happen, the classic controller sucks and is uncomfortable to play with. The 360 controller has 15 buttons, sticks and triggers combined, and is much more comfortable. The 360 has better graphics. The 360 also, in my opinion, is better quality. 360 is better all around, and definitely in the long run. 360 is like taking the Titans over the Lions in the Super Bowl, and wii is like picking Sarah Palin as VP...
